ny state cultivation laws

norml isnt making much sense to me

I know Ny is a pretty lienent state in comparison to others

just HOW much can i get away with, without doing time?

I am a working person, dont involve with other drugs or people who involve in anything wrong, so basically very low profile, doubt id have a problem

but id like to have knowledge on the topic to be sure

NORML usually has pretty good writeup's on state laws, but some states can be vague in the way they word their drug laws, so that might lead to some confusing info... I can't help you with specifics on NY, but it sounds like a better question for a lawyer. In the state I live in you hear so much BS about the dope laws, lawyers are at least professionals, and there are many that specialize in marijuana cases. This sort of question probably falls under the 'free consultation' that most lawyers will give you, and then if you ever do run into issues you have someone ready to call who you at least have some prior relationship with.

If you are worried don't bother trying to grow.

I'd let uk the truth about cultivation here, but I bet you wouldn't believe me. There is a gaping hole in the law. That technically amounts to cultivation being a misdemeanor. BUT only if you do not posses any harvest marijuana.

well, im not worried.. I've done plenty of grows before in much more populated area than I am, but I like to be updated on the laws so i know how far I can take my grow..

It's good to know in case that fateful day ever comes. One of the reasons I keep it under 10 plants. In my state, 10 plants and up carries a mandatory minimum of 2 years. That's a little insane, so I'm thinking a lot of people plead to lesser charges in that situation, but I don't need something like that hanging over my head, haha.

Maximum sentence for cultivation of marijuana(w/o possession of any use-able amount) in one year in jail. Keep it under 50 and I doubt you will get time for first offense. Just remember to not posses any.
