Nutrients- Please make it simple for me

Can someone please make nutrients simple for me?

It seems all the posts ive read about nutes are in regards to hydro or sea of green of some guys plot to grow 1000 plants. Ive got just one plant!

Can someone please make nutrients simple for me?

soil grow, 2 gallon pot.....

How much water, How much Nutrients, how often??

nutes go by what the instructions on the label says.

you water your plant slowly. pour a half liter in or so and let it sit for a few minutes then repeat. keep doing this until water comes out the bottom of the pot. now you know how much is too much. next time, dont put that much in.

there is no pat answer for how often to water in soil because there are too many variables. there are two manual ways to tell when to water your plants.

1) wait till the plant gets droopy and tells you she is thirsty.

2) stick your finger an inch or two into the soil (careful about the roots) and if it is dry, water. if moist, dont.

or you could buy a moisture meter.

after your harvest, pull the root ball out of the pot and look at it. if the roots are all at the bottom of the pot you are over watering and next time you want to cut that down. you want to see the roots fairly evenly distributed through the soil.
