i was wondering if anyone can reccommend a fool proof, tried and tested non-organic nutrients brand for soil please? it has to be available in the u.k. also if any of you can recommend a decent brand, could you please be very kind in providing me with the feeding schedule you use and any other nutes or boosters you use, basically iv tried different things and still dont get the results i want, i just need a brand and feeding schedule that a grower on here can confirm will give me great results? thanks in advance

What brands have you tried rookie farmer. Ones that havent worked for you. From personal experience I used to find vitalink were very good, stable and suited to the water were I was. Ive also seen some recent grows with the complete mills line up which are doing very well too. Although the mills is a very concentrated nutrient so one has to be carefull. In soil if you have a good soil mix adequately amended and a decent size pot you shouldn't have to wory too much about feed brands as the soil mix and microbe life within it should do most of the work for you. This is why some of the details about your past issues and methods you've tried will help us to give you better advice.

i was using a brand called shogun samurraii, but just the grow and bloom. wanted to keep the grow as simple and as basic as possible. but id like to start using some some more advanced nutrients, i dont know if the problem was that i was only using the basic n-p-k nutrients, and should have been using some accellerators too, or if the brand was just shit but i did read good things about the brand. so i wasnt sure wether to stick with shogun samurraii and just buy theyre boosters/accelerators to use with the grow and bloom i already have or just change brand altogehter, im looking at advanced nutrients range, have u any experience with advanced nutrients brand? one of theyre reps has advised me of a selection from their range that i can use, although i wrote this post before they got back to me, so think im just going to try what he recommended to me, thanks for your reply, ill have a look at vitalink also, much appreciated thewholetruth.

Ive tried some advanced nutrients stuff in the past. Their big bud is a good product. To be honest with you a person can end up buying tens of products if they were to believe all the cannabis targeted marketing. Ive seen many grows done in a good soil mix in decent sized pots and they've used a quality tomato feed and got good results. Most cannabis targeted base nutrients are very similar if not mostly the same. I would like to hear abit more about how you feel things didn't workout in the past. You should have been fine with just a good base feed and had satisfactory results. Some growers have amazing results with the simplest feed regiment so I suspect something else may actually be causing you to get unsatisfactory results.
Oh I have also used hydro hw one part ionic bloom in soil all the way through veg and flower and have had very very good results too. Thats a very simple easy to use feed that is quite forgiving if mistakes are made. For simplicity and all round ease its a good feed too.

I don't think it was entirely the nutrients causing me to have bad results, my light wasn't the best either, so iv upgraded that too, was on a shitty unbranded 600w led, using a spider farmer 1000 now, I do think this effected my yields a lot, there are a lot of things I'm changing aswell as nutrients, also, the last plant I pulled down, I dug the roots out of the soil to see if there were any problems, and there were, I started that one in jiffys, and transplanted whilst still in the jiffy to its new pot, so when I dug the roots out of that grow, there were literally only two roots that had grown through the jiffy, it hadn't even broken down, not in the slightest, it was in tact, in one piece, and very much restricting root growth, will not be using jiffys again, ever!! I'm quite confident for my next one with all my upgrades, I will be using advanced nutrients base feed, and they're big bud, and couple of other bits from them, I still have a plant up from my last one, that's still being fed only base nutrients from shogun, the buds are growing reaaaal slow, its only got just under 3 weeks left so I'm hoping she's gonna fatten up in that time, I'll let u know how she looks when I chop her, but I'm almost certain she's gonna be a small yield. Thanks again for your advice mate

From the cradle to the grave, seedlings to full flowering.
I've used loads of different feeds over the years but always go back to Tomatorite.
You can grow plants with near enough any brand of balanced nutrient.
What type of soil are you using?
Something sounds wrong with your roots or lack of.
Where you overwatering them maybe?
Any pics of the plant that's still growing?

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully things work out better for you this time around. Remember even though you are growing in soil cannabis roots still love lots of air. So try to use soft, airy, fluffy, clean, easy draining soil. Also try to let the soil dry out abit, aleast the top inch or two before watering as this will encourage the roots to grow more in their search for water and give them alot of air. Good luck, let us know how things work out for you .

I'll post a pic now of the one that's still growing, I think your right about the roots, I started the seeds in jiffy pellets, I was growing one photoperiod (the one that's still growing) and an auto, which I chopped down yesterday, when I looked at the roots of the auto, they'd barely even made it through the jiffy, the jiffy still looked exactly as it did when I put it in there, there were barely any roots man :( I'm pretty certain that was the problem from what you guys are saying about nutes. I have some tomorite under the sink, thankyou for that, I'll have a think about using it :) I don't think I was overwatering, was watering about every 3 days, let the soil almost completely dry before I watered them again, also I was using canna terra proffesional soil, it has added perlite, I didn't add anything else to the soil. Hope this helps you shed some light on this for me, as I said I'm pretty sure now that iv chopped that auto down that the roots were the problem, but of course there was no way I could know this until I chopped it down, so I'm pretty certain now that the photoperiod is having the same problem, but again not much I can do about this now as it only has just over two weeks left, well according to the supplier of the seed (plus a week added on by me just because I believe breeders advertise a shorter flowering time just to attract customers, but I may be wrong..pics to follow...

As a new grower I started using GH 3 part with a million bottles. Works fine, got sick of mixing it and chasing ph, Small batches are a pain with this.

As a slightly less new grower, I now use dyna gro foliage pro @.3ml per L to start with, because it's a one part nutrient with everything in it. I do buffer my ro water with Armor Si @ .25ish ml per L.
I use it in soil as well on some peppers and tomato's I just mix It with ro water @400ppm, .8ec, it ph's itself to around 6.3 with my water.

I use plant magic everything available in u.k most products 2 day delivery on amazon they have either organic or non organic this is my first grow and I went organic 3rd week of flower and my babies have grown pretty well with the PM products
Looks very nice :) I have been looking at pm, although I'm starting to realise that my nutes weren't the problem, I think my roots got bound inside the jiffy pellets I planted the seeds in, won't be using them again!! :/

Have any on you used advanced nutrients range with biobizz light mix? It's an organic soil but I'm being told by a rep at advanced nutrients to use the synthetic nutrients they advised me to use, but with biobizz light mix, has anyone heard of using organic soil with synthetic nutes because I can't seem to find any info on that, thanks in advance

Iv used hydro nutrients in organic soil and it worked well. There are nutients out there now targeted towards this. Mills is one I know of. You may find some good advice around the organic and hydro nutrients method while searching for mills and information out there by them that maybe helpfully in your situation.

thank you, ill have a look now at mills and see what i can find, i did read the specs for plant magic soil, its organic but they state that it can be used with synthetic fertilizers, so i think your right in saying there are nutrients targeted towards this, i think advanced nutrients are doing just that. im pretty sure though that iv decided im going to use bio-bizz light mix along with advanced nutrients hobbyist level range, which is what advanced nutrients rep advised me, and my light upgrade of course, and definitely wont be using any jiffy pellets, im hoping all of this will solve my problems for this next one, keep u updated, thanks again for everything thewholetruth :)

What lighting are you using because that blurple in your pics doesn’t look very powerful.

U.K. grower here too and I use

400w HPS
6” inline fan
900m3/h rhino pro filter

I grow in coco and use DUTCH PRO HYDRO grow A/B start to finish with a few extras.

but I did use just A/B for a long time and was achieving between 300-450g from the area depending upon strain and training etc.
