I haven't used foxfarm myself, but I hear that it gunks up your reservoir and most pros here stay away from them. The most popular amongst the knowledgeable seems to be Ionic Grow/Bloom/Boost and Advanced Nutrients which are considered the best for cannabis cultivation. In fact, Advanced Nutrients for example even has a cannabis specific nutrient for medical grow, so you know they specialize and Ionic is by Growth Tech and if you look at the symbol on the bottle.......well it looks like a big weed leaf.... Ionic: Growth Technology – The Nutrient Company Advanced nutes: Advanced Nutrients I personally use Ionic nutes as was recommended by nongreenthumb....working beautifully so far and they're not expensive....about 30-34$ for 1 gallon. All you need is the grow bottle for vegetation and then bloom for flowering and you can optionally use boost for bigger buds.

Having used them in soil and hydro - I would say they are top notch for soil - when I switched to hydro they gave me nothing but problems. Ph fluctuations, clogged sprayers, nute defiecenties....

For hydro applications I would say General Hydroponics 3 part is the way to go along with some Cal/Mag - Diamond Nectar, Hydroguard, Liquid Kool Bloom and Floralicious plus, but that is just my opinion.

And do you know anybody else in your area that is growing hydro with tap water?

Some area, the water is SOOOOOOO hard, that is actaully impossible to grow hydro or aeroponically.. and a RO filter is required..

cheers

I use only FoxFarm and its hard to mess you plants up with it. I saw your journel and it lookls like your ph was wacky.5.8 to max 6 is tops at 7 you were killing your roots and the plant couldnt even uptake any nutes so its not the nutes its you monitoring. You have to chck the ph and ppm daily and keep them in check or you ll have issues 2 days at 7 is more then enough then you have to take time to clean your res add frwsh 5.8 ph water and run it through the system for a few days to get the plants back to normal then flush res and add new nutes.Flora nova is a bit more complicated as it burns young roots easy and can cause nute issues real easy so be careful until you get used to it. Fox Farm is the most forgiving to new users and is pretty consitant. Also make sure your monitoring your res water temps they need to saty below 70 degrees F or you can have issues with roots and nute uptake. Also try adding some grotek H202 as it will add o2 and stop bacteria formed from higher res temps or locked roots from poor ph monitoring.

In an aero setup I would reccomend a filter bag or inline filter as the Big Bloom is easy to clogg misters as it clinges to itsself and builds up in sprayers if allowed to.I use tap water without issue my water is about 300 ppm without nutes.

h2o2.whats this i hear about hydrogen peroxide?

I use Grotek industrial peroxide. Its made for hydroponics growers. You add 2-5 drops per gallon of water depending on plant stage and it add o2 to the watre which helps roots feed and grow while killing any infections or bacteria. Also allows a little higher res water temps not much maybe 5 degrees warmer which can help

The grotek costs about $10-13 bucks for a bottle by me.Bottle will last you a few grows I use a 50 gallon res and add some every 3 days and will have enough for 2 grows per bottle. With the floa nutes if your doing aero dont use and dry nutes in the system if its dwc or bubbler your ok
