Nutmeg.

So a buddy of mine recently told me about nutmeg. Now I've done a lot of psychadelics/hallucinogins and I know how to handle them. I'm planning on maybe trying nutmeg as I have never heard of it until now. My plan is to get whole nutmegs and grind them up, but how many do yous guys think i should grind up? I'm looking for a pretty medium trip, just to the point where im tripping but not too heavy haha. Any ideas oir tips? Thanksss:joint:

I dont plan on smoking it, That just seems kinda fucked in my opinon. I plan on ingesting it. And its just something that I would like to expierence as with everything else I've expierenced :P

If you have "never heard of it until now" I would do some basic research; there are many things better than nutmeg; it's not exactly what you'd call a good trip. And as said before, it's what you do in junior high ;)

Psychoactivity and toxicity

In low doses nutmeg produces no noticeable physiological or neurological response, but large doses cause symptoms and harm.
Nutmeg contains myristicin, a weak monoamine oxidase inhibitor. Myristicin poisoning can induce convulsions, palpitations, nausea, eventual dehydration, and generalized body pain[7]. It is also reputed to be a strong deliriant.[8]
Fatal myristicin poisonings in humans are very rare, but two have been reported, in an 8-year-old child[9] and a 55-year-old adult, the latter case attributed to a combination with flunitrazepam. [10].
Myristicin poisoning is potentially deadly to some pets and livestock, and may be caused by culinary quantities of nutmeg harmless to humans. For this reason, for example, it is recommended not to feed eggnog to dogs[11].
[edit] Use as a recreational drug

Use of nutmeg as a recreational drug is unpopular due to its strong taste and its possible negative side effects, including dizziness, flushes, dry mouth, accelerated heartbeat, temporary constipation, difficulty in urination, nausea, and panic. In addition, experiences usually last well over 24 hours and sometimes in excess of 48 hours, making recreational use rather impractical.[citation needed]
In his autobiography, Malcolm X talks of prison inmates consuming nutmeg powder, usually diluted in a glass of water, in order to become inebriated. The prison guards eventually caught on to this practice and cracked down on nutmeg's use as a psychoactive in the prison system. In William Burrough's appendix of Naked Lunch, he mentions nutmeg producing a similar experience to marijuana, but causing nausea instead of relieving it.

I understand that but I like expierencing different things, I dont know, I think robo trips are pretty junior high too but a lot of people do those too haha. All I'm saying is I just like to expierence different things. and yeah I have done some research on it and I've heard "good" and "bad" trips. And the only way to find out about something is to take a leap and try it yourself. idk thats what im myself.all about. I just wanna expierence it. But thanks haha

my sister told me when she was a junior in college one of her roommates did it. she had the shakes, was real paranoid, had a mirgraine, and just generally felt and looked like shit for three days. she couldnt walk and hardly left her room.

if you really wanna experience something just to experience it go ahead. i think some things are better left untouched. this definitely being one of them. the only remotely positive thing i have read was the "marijuana" like high. but even still its coupled with soooo many other negative symptoms.

since you like things like this you might wanna try water intoxication. its on erowid (for real). look it up. supposedly gives hallucinations. seems to be right up your alley of horrible horrible things to try.

Oracle of Hallucinogens
The active chemicals in nutmeg are similar to (and I believe precursors) to MDA and/or MDMA.

Yeah, I mean I can appreciate wanting to at least try stuff, but this is one of those things that's just dumb to try ;). Now if the payoff was really good with the side effects, it would be one thing. But Ive rarely found a good story off nutmeg. Just my .02

There was a thread about smoking nutmeg awhile ago, you might look it up before making any decisions. I must admit, the idea that a common kitchen spice could get me high has always been alluring. However, I tried it once and the results were, well, just unpleasant.

P.S. There is a guide out there in on Erowid that seems to be the most reasonable approach (totally not how I did it btw - might explain some things) I've heard. Look for "It Was a Tradition" in the nutmeg experiance vault under preparation/recipes. Some guy named "old dude," wrote it. Hope this helps.
