Hey all,

Got a great DWC Bucket grow going. Iam new to the hydro world, and wondering why the fox farm nutes im using is make my healthy roots clump together. All my plants look healthy and growing great, but the nute clumping has got me concerned. Any input? Can the nutes go bad after a whle? I know the nutes are kinda old, as in years. Is this why it happened? I believe its why this is happening... True? False?? Thx in advance. CG :)

I don't know about the nute age but my inclination is to think that if theplant looks good, the nutes are fine. I wouldn't worry about it as long as theplants look good. if they start showing a problem, I'd do a res change and try to spray the roots off. You could do that with every res change if you wanted. The roots would probably love it, but it may not be necessary if the green part looks healthy and is growing well.

Hello Illegal Smile :)

Love that avatar!! LOL! Its great to get a response from a DWC guru like yourself. Ive read many of your posts, and I ABSOLUTELY agree with losing the tubes. How unecessary huh? Ok, Great so you think Its all good. I will take your advice on spraying off the roots. Ummm...what should i use to spray em off with? Ph'ed water..Superthrive? And is it bad for the roots to be out in light during a res change?

Peace, CG :bigjoint:

Thank you for your input. Yea, it seems when I add the Big Bloom with the guano ingredient the clumping happens. Ok, Ill relax and let it go.

Spray them with just plain water. A little light for a short time is fine, just use as little light as you can see with. Roots usually like an air bath and often grow fast next day.
