Ok heres my question I have a single plant growing in a 5 gal bucket,Im mixing my nutes at a 2 to 1 ratio using GH nutes,I mix 1 part micro to 2 parts bloom and have been running around 1250 to 1300 ppm on the .7 scale ph 5.8 to 6.0 and not sure on my water temp cuz I broke it and need to get 1 today but I use tap water daily to top off the bucket and its cold.now the plant is taking in around a gal. a day my ppm will be between 1250 to 1300 when I top it off but the next day when I check the ppm before adding is at 1400 or so is this nomal or is my plant locked up? I add a gal. of ph corrected tap water and Im back to 1250 to 1300 next day the same thing.the plant looks good aside from some top shade leaves that I think may be heat stressed. thanks in advance for any help forgot to add that Im going into my 5th week of flower

Your doing just fine with the Lucas formula your supost to be at 1400 ppm with it.What's going on is your plants are using a gallon a day. When the water level drops nuts become more concentrated upping the ppm.

i would leave them where they are if your at 1400 in the morning.keep doing what your doing and keep an eye on those leaves you think are heat stressed.

why is everybody using tap water. when you use tap water you are of course gonna get a nutrient lock out because you have no idea what is your city or towns municipal water. just get a RO filter its well worth the stress

some people do great with tap or city water because not all tap water is bad, so not everyone will get nute lockout from tap or city or even well water. r/o is a good way to go but not nessicary for everyone.

I have some pretty blazing heat in Southern California and I keep my plants in the garage which makes it worse.

Next grow you should set sunrise for 6pm. That way the light isn't on during the hottest part of the day. I have to do this or my plants would fry. Before when I was on the 24 hour cycle the temps were regularly getting into the 90's. Now that ive set it up this way they never grt to 90. The ultimate solution would be to get a cooler i guess.

The only drawbackto the 6pm sunrise is you have to wait until 6pm to start working on them. But I also find that to be somewhat beneficial if you can be around the plants at that time. For instance, if you are home at that time every day you will always be able to check your plants first thing at their sunrise. Making changes will put the plants into a bit of shock, and since you made the changes at the beginning of their day they will have alot of time to recover before their nightfall.
