A nuclear war is highly unlikely, but war between nuclear powers wouldn't be a huge surprise.

From the U.S. Intelligence Community report on Feb 2023:

India–China
While India and China have engaged in bilateral border talks and resolved border points, relations will
remain strained in the wake of the countries’ lethal clash in 2020, the most serious in decades. The expanded
military postures by both India and China along the disputed border elevate the risk of armed
confrontation between two nuclear powers that might involve direct threats to U.S. persons and interests,
and calls for U.S. intervention. Previous standoffs have demonstrated that persistent low-level friction on
the Line of Actual Control (LAC) has the potential to escalate swiftly.

India–Pakistan
Crises between India and Pakistan are of particular concern because of the risk of an escalatory cycle between two
nuclear-armed states. New Delhi and Islamabad probably are inclined to reinforce the current calm in their
relationship following both sides’ renewal of a cease-fire along the Line of Control in early 2021. However,
Pakistan has a long history of supporting anti-India militant groups, and under the leadership of Prime
Minister Narendra Modi, India is more likely than in the past to respond with military force to perceived or
real Pakistani provocations. Each side’s perception of heightened tensions raises the risk of conflict, with
violent unrest in Kashmir or a militant attack in India being potential flashpoints.

the Line of Actual Control features in a recent novel by one of my faves, Neal Stephenson: Termination Shock.

They fight over some mountain territories. But it’s not the sort of thing that’ll escalate into total war.
They will drift closer together in the next couple of decades. China has the capacity to pull millions or billions of Indians out of poverty as the Chinese living standards improve.

The first power to use a nuke in anger (since Japan) will be a global pariah. This has a higher deterrence value than retaliation in kind.

The other thing that puzzles me are how many people equate any nuclear war at all with an inevitable slide into world-burning spasm exchange. I don’t subscribe to that idea.
I think that thesecond part of your post is that if a nuke armed country like the US gets a large part of it's major cities turned to ash, nukes might be used over past animosities, since a recovery from half of metro US flattened and irradiated would de debilitating a WTF attitude may prevail,a share the pain mentality, for intance if the US were heavily nuked today,Biden would be in a bunker thinking that slimy Macron just undercut the West in sucking Xi's balls at their meeting so here's a couple for you Pierre.

I don’t think so. While I disbelieve our nation would send spite bombs, any such are more likely to end up in, say, Tehran or Riyadh.

You are late homie. The original post was edited so that good people can sleep better at night.
Humor me.
Did you watch the this weekend news broadcast where they said pentagon secrets have been leaked. Or maybe the one where the China surrounded Taiwan. There seem to be a lot of effort to upend the digital connections between the us and China. Maybe when someone says that Tic Tok is stealing secrets sound ridiculous.
But just like the bitcoin mining, millions of cellphones with high end processors can be hijacked in the background, to do what ever the app creator wants it to do. Just like the mining rigs, cellphones have access to places that may be blocked to China. Encrypted code can be accessed and broken while millions of Americans watching silly videos on all of those handheld super computer.
This gives new meaning to “made in Taiwan” or “Chip shortage”.
Did I just hear you say omg. Why did you say that when you already said prayer don’t work.
Of course you know omg is an abbreviated form praying. Thousand of years and people are still doing it… I wonder why.
Hahahaha
Sheeple
Religion exist so week minded people don’t slaughter others when the realize the end is near
Thus after life has to be real and you must “believe “
The rest of your theories could be dispelled with a simple Russian disinformation campaign
Funny how all roads lead there just like all the oligarchs who own yachts no one else can afford
Must be the Chinese lol
