How long should you wait during Veg once you have topped your plants to flower them?
2 weeks, they stress when topped and need time to stabilizeHow long should you wait during Veg once you have topped your plants to flower them?
Yea nice one, They have all recovered from topping them and most of them have grown 2 tops and the side ones have also grown up towards the light so looks like its worked nicely. Put them in bigger pots today so want to flower when they are not too shocked again.. posted a threat under general growing where i asked how long i should wait before i flower if i transplanted today...Yes top the crap out of her but not all at once, let them get new growth below the cut. I personally like to see a nice clean dry stubby on the plant where i cut it and some new growth, once I see she's growing again then i know she's recovered (which is usually the next day or the day after) but i like to prune 3-6 times non-including taking clones if none of the tops take. I just keep to once or twice a day all pending on their health.
lol thats brilliant bro... Thats a kiff way of looking at them i must say. I get the picture behind it too. Topping them did well made new ones come up and didnt cause too much trouble... Transplanted them today and that may push them into a little shock but it went well. They rooted really well so didnt mess with them much. Will upload pics later.Cool good job, i find tansplanting shocks them longer then topping, my boss explained to me that topping was natures way to ensure plant survival. So when a deer or another animal come around and bite off the top, the plant then shoots up 2 new shoots, if those then get eaten then it shoots 4 etc... this is continous till it dies, so taking cuttings wont kill your plant your just re-directing the juices inside her and instructions she's just going into survival mode which if kept to long in by taking lots of cuttings or taking cuttings the same time as you transplant she'll grow balls hermie and self polinate again she's just ensuring her survival and telling you "Hey sorry bro I had to f@#k myself because you were fucking up!" lol. I like to picture my plants like a a set of one way streets with constant traffic going from roots to tips, the drivers (nutrients) always try to go as far on their trip to the light as they can so they take the closest to the light. So by LST you're constantly bringing their roads back down for them to build up again and also start new ones from new spots (nodes), Every set of node to me is like a 4 way stop. When you cut off one of the roads at the stop (topping or breaking a branch by accident) you just made all the traffic increase into the other side roads. I dunno if im just confusing people now, they're going to be like wow how many hits has he had lol. a few
I know what ya mean yea.. Love to see a diagram of a plant with a small city drawn in to visually describe what ya saying.. (just think it would look kiff)! Also it helps you take better care of your plants when you look at them in that way. Better understanding = better plantsThx man I'm always trying to simplify and relate to everyday things so that I can understand it better my analogy of this plant is way more complex but I just wanted to explain my roads system, I look at the plant itself as a little city with lots of different workers (nutrients) in that city some are in charge of transportation (nitrogen) while this city is being built (veg state). In seedling stages i look at it like a little settlement so you don't need as many workers to make you city grow, fan leaves are like office buildings your city erected they create shade this is true but it also houses all your little workers (nutrients) while they're not needed. When your office building occupancy is full it turns very green, if it turns dark green to black you have way to many workers, on the other hand when the office buildings are empty or not needed they turn yellow and fall off themselves. (over fertilizing / deficiency) These office buildings are also you solar panels to power your city, so if you remove them you better hope you can still meet your supply and demand . etc.... you can pretty much compare anything related to the plant to how a small city operates I just find it easier playing mayor lol
Cheers for the reply. Yea my plants look pretty healthy (to me) and they have been treated really well since they started growing... They therefore should be able to handle the transplant and i went from 5litre bags to bigger pots.. probably could have gone bigger but space is big (but not that big). Uploading pics in a sec.I have never seen a plant react badly from a transplant as long as the transplant was needed and large parts of the root mass weren't lost...and it is true the longer you want to veg the bigger the ending yield, but then you have to deal with a larger plant as well, and larger plants need more light and water and more space and blah blah blah...So it is up to you when you want to switch the lights.
I was thinking of flowering all of these at the same time as they are the same age already. Some more ready than others i suppose, so i will be using that space in the pic and i have another are to work with too.. The light is 400 watt and i have a 400w hps to pop in there. Any tips? hahaHey man does are looking nice, your in the same boat as I. Low budget growing not the best gear, but usually the most creative setups. I find not being super well off great for stimulating the brain muscle, everything isn't as easy as going to e-bay lol. Keep up the good work, how big is your flowering room?
That is quite the metropolis you have going on, very nice very very nice! Are those big ass totes as containers, pretty kick ass I wish I had the room for them! I can see why you have such large cities, why wouldn't you build a big ass city on a big ass piece of land like them totes. +rep to you for having such kick ass land for you metropolises.you can pretty much compare anything related to the plant to how a small city operates I just find it easier playing mayor lol wpu;d you classify this as a big city )
