You should have seen the disaster my sis went through with hers for her wedding. GIrl butchered her nails to hell, cut them wrong, too much acrylic..what a mess.
I do mine with a pocket knife.

I don't do acrylic, my nails are real but I do get the gel polish (the one that cooks under the light)
I can just tell that she rushed...I prefer perfection

She doesn't either, just had it for the ceremony. Now she's wishing she hadn't. I used to get the gel myself but had to stop years ago when I realized having them had damaged my thumbnail. I could have it gelled I suppose, I just haven't had the funding for such luxuries as of late.

I think we are talking about two different things...it's shellac...just a super durable nail polish treatment that holds up like perfect for weeks...my nails look so nice you may think they're fake but they aren't. Yep, two different things. The gel I'm speaking of is used in place of acrylic for fake nails. I used to get it to keep mine from breaking back when they were so thin. Nowadays they grow great, I'm constantly having to trim them back. I usually go bare, I like the au naturale' look.
