Not Sure What Light To Use

I have been around a short time and know there is more to life than Cannabis, but I also know that it is the most or at least one of the most beneficial plant for animal kind. I am a patient. That said, I think it should not only be legal here, but the entire world. Everyone knows the infinite uses for this amazing plant but some people at the top need things illegal so that their wallets can stay fat.[/FONT]

I'm surprised that people are not growing outdoors..

How would the best way for me to upload videos? I'm not sure about "youtube" because people keep getting blocked. Let me know what you all have done.

I'm going by the poll info of course, and nobody has posted videos or give advice? Wow, roll it up seems to have changed since before..

I have seeds germinating, hope they all sprout worth a damn. Should only be a few days, getting an 8 bulb t5 and 4 bulb t8 early this week. Don't know much about them other than they have only been used 6 months by someone who lost interest. I'm paying $100 where he payed $350 or so he says.. He provides receipts and everything.

Oh and by the way, that fluorescent grow up there is 200w.. I miscalculated.

I payed $200 dollars for this by the way (not gloating, just sharing excitement).. I appreciate good people. Not including the tent but including a 1000w bulb, $200+ in juice, and a few odds and ends.

Can anyone tell me what kind of hood that is? Brand, maybe a link to a website? It looks professionally built. Sealed construction.

This is how I germ. Hydrofarm heating mat on bottom with a small box on top. I have the heating mat connected to a "Zilla" temp controller. I don't know how many other people use this method but I use it for seeding and cloning. The temp sensor is inside the box and the controller can have to 3 devices plugged into it. In the box is a damp paper towel inside a zip top bag with air inside. Every 24 hours I open the bag to release old air and refill with lungs. About 3 days later monster roots. I can normally drop in the top of a rock cube, give it pinch and have a sprout next day.

This thing is great, it keeps things work instead of keeping things cool.

Well this should stir things up, the fluorescent grow above nutrients consisted of:
-MiracleGrow Tomato plant food
-B'cuzz Grow & Bloom additives
-Brier Rabbits Molasses (1 bottle lasted 6mo.)

Trichome blanket bottoms and tops of leaves, nice firm buds. Except for the Kush, that strain was very springy as usual. Very clean burn.

I am growing indoors (outdoors is illegal in my state) I have 3 rooms. I am a medical patient.

Cloning room is 4'x8'x8' I have a T-5 fixture 2'x2' with 4 bulbs that I use for cloning. I am using fogponics with STG medium until rooted (usually 2 weeks) and then into 80/20% mix of perlite/vermiculite. I am growing hempy style and they go into 20 oz hempy cups until the root ball is well established.

Then they go into 2 lb plastic coffee containers (also hempy style). From there they go into my veg room 8'x20'x8' (it is also my work room with tools and such) under 400 watt MH until ready to flower. I also have a stand alone carbon filter in this room.

The flowering room is 8'x8'x8' and has a 400 watt air cooled HPS fixture with tempered glass and magnetic ballast. The ballast lives outside the room and is as quiet as a mouse. I have a stand alone carbon filter in the flowering space also.. 500 cfm vortex fan that pulls warmer air from the top of the flowering room through the light and out of the room. Also bathroom extraction fan bringing in fresh air into the room.

I bought most of my equipment used. I had to rebuild the magnetic ballast on my 400 hps (just the ignitor and capacitor) about 3 months ago. $47.00 later it is like brand new again. The only light I bought new was the 400 MH. I vegged with just flourescents for quite some time before getting the MH.

I have found that the heat mat is very helpful during cloning stage after they come out of the fogponics unit. Really helps fill the roots out fast.

Sounds like you have a busy but stiff regiment.
How many plants do you run off the 400?

At any given time I have 6 in veg and 6 in flower. Works nice for my space. No mother plants. 2 weeks before flowering I take 8 cuttings off my veg plants and pick the best 6 for my next grow. The Flowering and clone room were a huge walk in pantry that I gutted and put in a divider wall so the rooms were pretty much already there. The large veg room was a bedroom that I converted to my work room/veg space. I try to stress to new growers that this battle is won in the planning phase and you can get great deals on used equipment as many folks are always upgrading. Maybe some day I will upgrade to a larger HPS light but for now, it is all good. It was hard to figure out my rotation at first and stay within State law but careful planning prevailed.

I run a regular cloner dome on a heat pad w3 CFL's. When moved into Veg. I use a aero system I built from PVC, Rubbermaid container, misters, foggers and a airstone + Co2 I let my plants get to about 2ft before I put them in Flower. For flower I run a 1000w & 400w Hps Both have Horti Super in there. I run 24 plants in a 6x6 tent using the ebb system. I use Botana nutes change my rez every 2 weeks.

Now instead of telling u why this is better (cause thats opinion not fact) I will try to encourage growth (both for the grower and for the plants) I like the CFL setup because of the cost, can grow some killer with out burning holes in the pocket, also cause of the heat issues involved with using a higher output light...... GL bUD

I haven't ever had anyone interested in my little 400 watt setup. I can get some pics of my 3 rooms up this weekend.

Hows it, OhYeah.
No questions really. I have done my share of DWC but never fog or aero(it makes plenty since) and its fun for the do it yourselfer.
Botanicare is great I use a few products from their line, but hey I use products from a lot of lines.
The whole CFL thing, really depends on the person, the cost, the availability, etc. I know people who have two tents with a 1000w hps in each.. 1 for mommas and runts and one for the dirty girls.

So i just picked up the lights.
A hydrofarm t5 2 bulb 2' light for my cloner and a 2'x4' t8 8 bulb from hydrofarm as well.
A hydrofarm digital timer and a set of yo-yo's
All for $100
