northern lights fem auto starting to foxtail

alright so one of my 4 plants is starting to foxtail. and not in a good the buds are so huge its all they can do kind of way but more of a my buds are going to look like long finger things instead of nice round nugs.

heres a few pics, from a distance they dont look to bad.

but when u get close you can see my buds are just like thin fingers that dont connect.

any idea what could be causing this? this one flowered like 2.5 weeks earlier then the rest so i would like to save the rest asap if i can before the buds start to fill out.

heres a side by side with one of the other plants. exact same age from the exact same seed pack. they dont even look like the same strain, plant structure, plant color, and leaf shape are completely different.
the other two plants look like the tall one but are at the halfway point between these two for height.
the one on the right as the one thats foxtailing

i have a 400w MH and 400ish watts of 2700k cfl. they hang about a foot above the canopy. at canopy level its warm, im almost positive its not to hot. im unsure of actual temp though.
all the leaf tips look yellow. i keep giving them just a bit to much nutes.

Nutrient stress can cause it too but i cant tell if that's light burn on the edges of those higher leaves or not? A 400watt mh can go as far as 18". Maybe try raising them a little.

and in case anyone was wondering. the plants i had finished the first week of march after 10 weeks for flower for 2 plants and 8 for the other two. the foxtailing filled out nicely the last few weeks and i got about 40 grams dry each off 3 of the 4 plants and almost 90 grams dry off the one that was ridicuously large compared to the other 3. i messed up while curing because i harvested the day before i left the country for 2 weeks on vacation and had my brother deal with it all. the buds got all like crispy dry on the outside but the inside has just the right amount of moisture. i'de give it a 7/10 for potency and suprisingly a 8.5/10 for flavour.

foxtail's are caused excessive heat as me mentioned and plant over-streching means it want's more light - light to far - agree wit TopDogTHC

Meh... doesnt matter much. Foxtailed buds smoke as good as any other... some strains are more prone to it than others...

I dont know about the heat and stretch thing. It happened to me with a canopy temp of 76f and 2 x 1000w only 18" above the canopy of 4 plants so...

Who knows.
