NorCal Grower Question????

Hey guys I have a few questions about when to place seeds\clones outside.
I have a seedling that hadnt grown from its cotelydons until the week before 4\20 and now its bursting with veg growth.
Im going for BIG plants this year and I want to place all of my clones outside at the perfect time where they wont just go straight into flower.
Currently I get about 14 hrs +\- of sunlight a day and its a steady 75 F out almost every day.
I'd be spending good money on clones + soil and I wouldnt want to waste my money on a clone that shocks itself straight into flower
Help???
If strains help im working with a random bagseed for my seed and for clones ill be running Super Sour OG (or Grand Tahoe OG probably both), SFV OG Kush , Trainwreck, Sour Diesel, and Atomic Northern Lights

seeds are good to go out anytime now and as for clones it really depends on how many hrs theyre used to indoors. if they on 20+ hrs they will only flower now then revegg so u lose about a month of progress in revegging. I have jus started seeds and put them outside but I also have a few seedlings I put out from germination and they are still goin great so im sure its plenty safe to start seeds. they tend to do better with time recognition and realize the days are getting longer before they actually have any chance to flower. heres the mama seeds of purple mr. nice that have been out side with no lights for 2 weeks or so

As for clones??? when should I go about setting them out? im assuming harborside has there clones on either 24 hrs or 18\6 , more likely 24 imo.. Ive been told set clones out in late may early june , but I feel like they will have little to no veg time and be hella small

Beans won't flower till they are ready so you can start them a little before the sun veg cycle gets in effect.

For clones in the bay area are after the 3rd week of may at the earliest. Most plant outdoors on june 1. You can be vegging indoors on normal 18/6 till June1 and then tranplant if you really need huge plants or want to start them pre-training. I planted the last week of june/early july last year and still had 2lb trees. June 1 is plenty of time to grow monsters. Flower starts by aug7-14 in up here if you get full sun.

Clones or seedlings, it doesn't matter.. If they are use to long days under your lights they will flower as soon as you put them outside. I have Strawberry diesel clones and a Holy Grail from seed that are both about a month into flowering right now outdoors. Most growers who want their plants to continue vegging outdoors add supplemental lighting .. I'm on my 3rd harvest of the year right now. I love the fact they start flowering as soon as I put them outdoors. I get a perpetual harvest every 30 days. I get a decent yield and I would rather trim a 3- 4 foot plant than a tree.

Good Luck !!

Norcal or Socal it doesn't matter much.. Same plants and the sun rises and sets just about the same time..

And I would love to be able to grow one of your trees !!! But where I live it would really stick out like a sore thumb.. Wouldn't be able to sleep..

But, I've already got more bud in jars than I can use the rest of the year !!! :bigjoint:

If you dont want your clones to flower wait until the waxing moon in May which will be the week of the 12th and the 19th this year. I'm going to buy a clone from harborside during that time frame and set it straight outside to prove my point. Benn doing this for awhile have yet to have a clone flower after being set out in May. I have plants budding now that a meember here gave me called the Juice. keepem green dirrtyd

I do not have the ability to veg my clones before I place them all outside. I feel like if I place clones outside in June that didnt veg they will turn out not nearly enough... Im thinking go with seeds for this year... Attitude seed bank here i come. I hope that this seed bank shit works out because I liked clones for indoor but now I longer have the light to veg my clones under. I guess im gonna order some seeds from attitude. I want to order my seeds from HSO what do you guys think?

That's really interesting, DirtyD.. I've been putting clones out every month for the last 2 seasons. Never have they not gone straight to flower. I would be really interested in hearing your results as of June 1.. I try to never say anyone is wrong in what they do. I just know what works for me..

Good luck with your clones..

What works in your microclimate will not work in mine. What I stated has worked in the Bay Area for me check out my past grows. It is all documented here on RIU. Also the latitude down there is different so the hours of light are also different. keepem green

I grew up and learned to grow in socal and move to norcal for college and have been here ever since and the seasons are slightly different timing. The fact that in Socal you can go all year using the right technique is the big difference. Up here once end of oct is here there is no outdoor game unless you got a nice green house setup with heat.

As far as clones go if you wait till the 3rd week of may to the 1st of june(or after) your clones will not flower even if they have been on 24hr light for 2 months. It is just how the plant works, once it is light out for a certain amount of time vs darkness(around 14.25 hr of light) cannabis will remain in the veg cycle it that simple. So wheather in Norcal or Socal or Nebraska when the light hits the 14.25+/day then you can put clones out and they will veg.
Here's a site find where yours is... http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/Dur_OneYear.php

Flower in norcal starts Aug 7-14...that is 2 1/2 months veg.

I've been wondering the same thing > The site has a bug .

socal, im down with flowering all year but are all 135 of your post the same ? lol kidding:-P ! It just bugged me the statement about no matter when you put clones out they will go straight to flower is not true . As dirtyd stated and the post below speaks the truth. If had sun all day now or moved your buckets in sun all day they probably wouldn't even flower now. Defintley not in 2 more weeks

I can only speak of my experience.. What you consider "facts" are just opinions to me.. Only because I've been doing this same thing for a couple of years and it just doesn't work that way for me.. I just stuck 2 more plants outdoors and will be very surprised if they don't have buds on them in 2 weeks..

Good luck with whatever methods work for you !!!
