Noob with a spots problem.

This is my first grow, 5 daylight 26w CFL, bag seed, 4thish week of grow, MG Organic (I know, only going to make that mistake once).

So i noticed little flies fruit or gnats, who knows, anyway for the last 3 days ive been using Safer Soap, a solution recommended by a guide I read elsewhere.

Now, beginning yesterday, brown spots, and a few brown patches have formed (see image). I'm inclined to think that these are a result of the flies.
What's the verdict?

If it is from the flies i think i'll give that sand idea that widowman suggested in Echodrone420 's thread.

Sorry for wasting you time, the picture must not have uploaded right. I tried the sand bit, and now the flies have been MIA for ~3 days which is great. Now i just need a moisture meter so i can still keep track of water content in the soil underneath. The only problem i've been left with is leaf loss due to the fact that the spots consumed most of the lower leaves. However new growth has formed and it seems to be pulling through.
