Noob question of the day! Root Aphids! (pics)

1st grow and it's getting so depressing. Noticed a calmag like def. and a few flyers early flowering. Today is beginning of the 4th week in flowering. Changed my scrog into a modular scrog last night and had to move my pot around and discovered the pot saucer was covered with root aphids! I always thought the flyer's were fungus gnats.
Did my research a lil bit and it seems like Bayer's has success for some people and some not.

Question one is. Is it too late for me now to use Bayer's? Beginning 4th week and growing an OG. That's all I know about this plant.

Okay and another thing. I was pissed at the saucer and I found the closes thing to me and sprayed them with my GreenCure spray bottle... Moments later they all died. I read on the GC site that GC has some insecticide for root aphids and it's in testing for it. So heres the Noob question I couldn't find the answer to.
Can I water my soil with Green Cure? And How much per gal? I know it burns the crap out of pistles.. I would imagine it would do the same to roots.

Few things:
Using whole FF line up with ocean fresh in 3.7 gal airpotsIMG_20140408_200506.jpg IMG_20140408_200536.jpg IMG_20140407_231016.jpg IMG_20140408_200506.jpgIMG_20140408_200536.jpgIMG_20140407_231016.jpgIMG_20140408_200506.jpg

Please help! Thanks RIU!

Try using azomax..its organic and may help..using DE and gnatrol could help too..in all reality though root aphids are there to stay. After you cut your plants sterilize everything and maybe even bomb your room. Sorry you have to deal with those guys.
Happy growing!

Thanks for the response, what does DE stand for? I will look into it.

DE = diatomaceous earth, a white powder that shreds the bugs when they walk on it. Problem is that it only works when it's dry.

Azamax is my preferred pesticide. Another option that you could source at a local hardware store is Spinosad.

Thanks for the input! Can this be used during mid flowering? I was on another thread and a guy is recommending SNS 203.. Have you tried that? In comparison with Azmax?

Thanks a bunch. I'm leaning towards azmax or sns 203... I've also read a lot of growers actually recommending trashing the infected plants! Maybe its true to a certain extent? I have a few flyer's and did find some stuck to the resin maybe about 15-20 total since the start of it.. and currently about 3-5 flyers when I open the tent. I'm not sure how infected the plant has to be before trashing it?? As of last night I've been spaying the saucers and pots with Green Cure (killing them) to keep them from growing into adults.
Thanks homies for giving me hope!
