noob needs info

Hey guys, I've been looking through some of these beginner guides and I still don't understand a few things.

Let me inform you guys on my plan just for some background information. I'm planning on planting 18-20 bag seed in a 5x5 2 foot deep area of fertilized soil in the woods/field etc. Around March or April, here I start to have some questions.

Will I have to sex my plants before I plant them in there final locations if so, I should expect to have 8-10 females right?

Another question I have is will they naturally go through all the stages, and eventually produce buds? Or do i have to change a variable or do anything? I've read about vegetating and flowering what exactly are there stages?

How long can i expect to wait before I get my end product?

And if i plant 8-10 females how much weed are we talking about here?

You really shouldnt expect anything from bag weed. Thats the worst "noob" way to get worked up about a huge grow. Start your seeds indoors and have them in a sunny window until they get big enough to support them selfs against the wind. I would germinate April 1 or so. You don't need to "sex" your plants because you can't. Its a natural process you have to wait for their declaration. Just check them every day or so, (you should be anyways) and if you are to catch ANY males with the distinctive pollen sacks, kill em! There is no way you can guarentee even estimate how much weed you will get from lousy bag weed. You might be lucky to let 2 ounces or end up with leaf, no bud.

I am not in the situation where i could grow marijuana in my window 'unfortunately.' And ordering them online is a not possible so i'm stuck with bag seed for the time being.

I hear some mixed opinions regarding bag seed but since you aren't working on a new strain and you don't seem overly concerned with genetics, bag seed should be fine for you. I (and many others), with patience, have had great success with bag seed. Just pick the good looking seeds out of decent smoke and give it a try.

There is no way to determine how many males to females you will get. you could end up with all males or all females or even all hermies! When i first started, i ended up with males or hermies the first several times i tried but then my luck changed. you just gotta stick with it and instead of getting frustrated by your mistakes and giving up - you have to learn from them and move forward.

I agree that bag seed is fine for you. If this is your first grow, then i think its better to start with bag seed. I wouldnt wanna waste $60+ on seeds i didnt know how to properly grow. As for how long itll take, id say about a regular growing season (spring through early fall, before frost or whenever they look ready, youll learn more as you go). Keep expectations low, if it turns out shitty dont get discouraged, if it turns out good, do it again haha. All the cycles (vegetative, flowering) will occur naturally, as with sex. Like dRugged said, when u see balls on the plant (coincidentaly enough) its a male, get rid of it. But your a winter away from this, so for now, read up on the site, follow some journals. Embrace the knowledge on this site, but remember that most of the knowledge will come from your trials and tribulations. feel free to pm me if youd like.

eh, i like more of a nyc flow, i dont really like the down south beats/lyrics. a lot of it is the same thing to a different beat, and a simple beat to boot. there is some good southern rap tho. outkast is one of my favorite artists/groups period, so it aint all bad.

are you kidding me? Its about livin boomin down south,somthin yall dont know about it up there. TN, FL, GA, SC, NC. SC. MS, AL. listen to some real music from those states then come talk to me. NYC rap doesnt sound good and makes no sense. Like the motherfucker talks about nothing important at all, doesnt relate to anything to everyday life. Maybe yanks are diff, but if it was up to south we would all be sippin purple bottles.. actually everything above the mason-dixion line doenst really make sense

Then again i dont have a lot of free time to look for new music. An i live in the god damn hood, but cant find anyone who sells mixtapes. How much of a fuckin oxymoron is that shit

well im a 12th generation Floridian, my family was here brofre the civil war. Dont worry i know 95% of floridians now are nothern descent. i just love my heritage and love this state. Its the best in the union. Ive been ot almost every other state other than any of hte northeast(north of the dixion) and florida just always calls me back.

Good rap is anything from hypnotize minds. i agree rap sucks sometimes but u know the south has the best rap anywhere.
