Noob Grower

hello me and my friend are living in CT and we are planning on growing about 6 plants. We have lots of seeds, two 48 inch 40 watt fluorescent tubes, red party cups, bottled poland springs water, small fan.. thats all i can think of right now.. if you have any questions or if you think theres anything i need to get please tell me thanks!:blsmoke:

today my friend gave me his bag of seeds that he had been saving for a while. There were about 130 seeds in the bag. i took out 9 white seeds because ive heard that white seeds are usually female. i took the seeds, put them in a paper towel, then put the paper towel on a small plate. Then i put water on the paper towels. Now i guess i have to just sit, wait, and smoke some doob.:blsmoke:

thats only 8 seeds btw.

but yea you are doing it fine, just put the seeds somewhere warm.
dont use bottled water to water plants...go buy distilled water, or melted snow works.

also go buy cfl lights ( spiral bubs) look for 100 watt or more. these light are fairly cheap

Yeah, let the water sit for a day. Get some cfl's too! About $10.00 a piece. If what you have is just a basic shop light, its worthless.

the lights i am using are originally black lights but i went to the local ace hardware store and bought the lights that fit in them.. do you think those will work?

Read the bulbs, if they are T-5 HO's yr good, but I kinda doubt they are. Again, get the cfl's Or for about $65.00 buy a grow light, like at the link I sent you before.

Hey man check out this page and look at the threads to the top. https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/

You are asking a lot of basic questions that you could find here.

But to answer your question. Wait till your plants are about 12-16 inches tall to put them on the 12/12 timer (flowering). They may almost triple in size when everything is all said and done. Godd luck my friend. O and for futur notice, the brown seeds with darker brown spots on them are probably the best to use. They are pretty much ready to go and were fully developed seeds.

today i checked up on my seeds and sure enough of the seeds had sprouted. i got a clear cup and put some soil in it and then put the seed in it and watered it. i attached some pics too so give me feedbackif i should do anything

maaaaaann..u should be coo wit the clear cups as long as u got holes in the bottom to drain the water...madd ppl i kno start seedlings in clear cups, styrofoam or colored dixie cups until they believe it has a good root structure..plus its easy to transplant...I say just leave it alone bcuz the more u play wit it/move it around the less it will grow

what type of soil r u using?

spittin 4 cash,
this time, i have to disagree wit you... If he waits too long to transplant them and the roots reach the outside of the dirt... light penetrating the clear cup will kill the roots... roots only need water, oxygen and darkness... light is bad for roots... a stirofoam cup would be better than a clear cup.. even the red party cup would work... jus not a clear cup
