nodes

For those of you who start from seed rather than clones, I'd like to ask how many nodes you usually let the plant develop before switching to 12/12, or do most of you wait until the nodes start to branch separately. Anyone who wouldn't mind elaborating on the reason you do it the way you do would be appreciated.

Thanks, :bigjoint:

The plant is mature and reading for flowering when the nodes aren't growing directly across from eachother anymore. But really, you can start flowering anytime. :D

I don't really count the nodes, I usually veg for eight weeks. I do this because I want a bit larger plant, that is fully sexually mature, before I put her in flower. Doing it this way lessens the time it takes to actually begin flowering.

I don't usually count them, but I do look for the formation of alternating, rather than opposite, nodes (ie. one leaf on one side of the stem, then one on the other). I did happen to count them this last time around -- I had 12 nodes after vegging 4 weeks under 400 MH.

I'm also running a couple of superskunks straight 12/12-from-seed and they're killing it, so there's that, too.

Put MJ under 12/12, and she'll flower - within a couple-few days if she's more mature (ie. alternating nodes, showing pre-flowers); 10-14 days if not. I think what matters most is "how big of a plant / yield do I want or can I accomodate?", and then you veg out to a point that fits your answer to that question.

I usually just stick them in flower when I think i need smoke soon... lol. But I like to wait for alternating nodes when I have time, I know the yields are better but in hydro you can end up with some monster room eaters. Just wondering what others are doing and results their getting.

thanks to all who reply
