No water 2 days before harvest?

I been seeing the growers "Jungleboys" on instagram say they dont water for 2 days before harvest (i assume with the lights on/off, not just siiting in the dark) they do hydro as do I but i guess it can be applied in soil as well, so im wondering does anyone here do it or tried doing it? does it really help ripen them and bring up potency?

I try to time my harvest for the same day I'd water next ....the only reason i do it is, I don't see a reason to have my plants soak up a bunch of water just to chop them and begin trying to dry and cure it out of them....if I'm watering every 4 days il skip the last watering and chop em on the 5th day ......been doing it like this for years with great results .....as far as it making them more potent .....I don't see how it would tbh ....but I figured I'd share what I do personally ......GL

Nothing to do with potency. Like the other poster said...why saturate them when you are about to dry them? Wait until they're thirsty, then chop.
thanks for your responses i guess the theory is it stresses them so its supposed to help like they say lowering humidity the last few weeks can help with potentcy. those junglke boys do like 16 day flushes and shit too which i also thought was kind of odd

I gotcha, the thought of when conditions are dry it could increase resin production. If you are looking to boost potency, look into UV light supplementation

yeah i was looking at uv, the other thing i saw was lowering humidity as low as possible but im curious if keeping the correct vpd is more beneficial than lowering RH

On vpd, vpd is for optimal plant growth not necessarily right to convince plant to crank out extra thc for quality.. I beleive in vpd but iv found cool dry finish really boosts quality. So i try to run in good vpd range for first 2/3 of flower then start stepping down to cool and dry finish... Im trying to get blend of best growth and best quality... thats what works for me, never ending expiriment though

Vapor pressure differential. Basic concept is theres a balance of temp and rh that is a "sweet spot" that allow for optimalrate of transpiration. There are charts based off university sudies of tomatoes.. higher the temp the higher humidty they need, the higher rh counteracts the need to tranpirate faster to cool itself. tranpiration isnt going so fast its taking up more nutes than it can really use...isnt going so slow its growth is slowed.

Plants will grow just fine way out of vpd but it eliminates stress as it keeps things in a balance, once shes grown sizewise a bunch im fine with the stress cool temp and crazy dry temps may cause her. The growth i want at that point is the growth of those trichs by the plant putting more trichs out to try to get stickier to grab some pollen....

Thanks for the reply... problem is i have mine in 2 cycles. theyre a month apart in the same room so i need to either choose if they stay in low humidity their whole life or in proper vpd

Hey it's not cool to hi jack another persons thread ....it causes confusion and takes away from the OP getting his questions answered....after all he took the time to start his/this thread ...people are happy to help ....just go start your own thread in the noob grow section ....instead of stealing/hi jacking someone else's ......

providing every needed resource will allow your plant to fully express with its highest potential. there are no tricks or else they'd jut be the way we all do it.
add c02, more hid lights, less humidity, more air flow, try different varieties, feed organically, use quality water and substrate. that show my weed became perfect
