Hi everyone,im a newbie.I did the over-nut mistake during the flowering stage and have to chop down all earlier ( popcorn buds cause of not enough days, just a few bigger ones). Then I made a dry box use one small size pc fan and a bigger one (there is a wind tunnel inside the box),let them dry in there 3 days then move to a ziplock bag with many many many silica gels around. So today,60% of them is really dry to bend clearly, the SMOKE IS KIND OF HAY,BITTER,NOT THE WAY IT SHOULD BE ! But hey,the buds aren't big but looks not airy.
I tried to read a lot around, people always answer two ways. One is over nutrient cause bad taste or smoke it when still being wet (mine is dry). Two is not drying/curing enough time (at this point, don't wanna be a bullshit or make a war,I read AlBFuct had said that "drying is just moving the air around the bud from inside out to available window that can smoke".He also doesn't cure, just put the bud after trimming into dry box and smoke it out after 3-4 days later. If you don't belive, google "al b fuct dry box") !
I have another plants to harvest and make no trouble with nutrients, all so green and healthy, gud smelling also ! At this moment,I only can guess that "BITTER TASTE" cause of over nutrient is my fault, should I have to wait for the next harvest to get the exactly answer !!??? Please help me out of this,im really disapointed but I know living is learnin n don't give up ! Srr for long words, have a gud day my friends

Naw your bud is not done curing yet. Put it in a mason jar and burp as needed based on RH inside jar. Another 2weeks minimum. I like mine a month or more. Read the stickies at top of the forum.

4got you chopped early. Fast dry and no cure if you like bud that tastes like hay. The cure will make it better than it currently is but the full flavor and potential may be missing. Unless you did have feeding issues, that would cause problems. Or if your bud is past the point of curing and is crispy, chalk it up as lesson learned and enjoy what you have.

Everyone makes mistakes.......if you learn from them you're doing good if you don't learn from them ......you're doomed to repeat them and as a result you will be right here asking the same questions again........take time to research there is countless avenues of info on this site . I do believe you rushed things patience is a virtue when it comes to this game.
Carry on my friend and better luck next time !

Thanks for your help my friend ! Im an oldschool but still learnin, peace !
Actually,i used to be an outdoor grower for a while ! All of my buds have been grown that ALWAYS taste like a combination of skunky-bitter-hay smell because in a large area, you can't fix everything correctly such as indoor garden, some gud and some really bad buds but who cares because the clients ain't the growers to judge !!!
And when come to indoor game,my thinkings abt growin still the same on nutrients because all things are new (lightin,enviroment...etc.) so the result is have to smoke out the trouble buds, sell the gud lookin buds with hay smell. But still better than my outdoor crops before tho !
Imo,due to my experience,I've come to Cambodia years ago,a small village where people smoke harder than wiz khalizfa everyday (their favorite is no filter,a really big joint,a special type of rolling papper, not OCB or juicy jay or raw) ! They hung the "huge fox tails" upside down near the window where sun and wind fucks them well everyday.I asked why, they answered that if any type of herbs, not only mariju, the more dryer the more potency/oil content they will be,the green from leaves/stem/flowers will turn into brown color is a gud sign ! They hang them for months, only let them inside a bag in the case of rainin outside ( keep in mind they r highlander and their homes aren't like us,lol ).So,they don't cure, just bone-dry it ! Don't mind to against your help just sharing my knowledge, hope u enjoy readin my friend.Again, thanks for your help !

I do believe I've rushed things too ! Because i did the feedin without a calendar and a note.I read somewhere that people susgest the growers shouldn't be paranoia, keep calm and growin.I was in a hurry case ! Money paid for electric bill, growin things will be taken back in the next harvest,a really pain in the ass.BUT marvelous and you just made my day,I feel not ALONE !! Have a nice day my friend, thanks a lot

Love me some oldsckool outdoor grown weed. I also like those unique drying methods in foreign places. Makes for a delightful experience. Trying that here loses the original funk and potency. It's something with the air, and sun, and place on earth that makem special. So indoor a slow dry after cut, then dry slower by cure in a jar a few weeks. You will be chiefien quality bud.
