They look great to me I wouldn't mind a few of those, i just might try the 12/12 from the start
Thanks WonderWhatsNext, cheers for looking in :-) Even with a 12/12 grow you still get about 3 weeks normal growth before you see any pre flowers so you can work with them a bit on training. I like to keep everything short but I still enjoy seeing one main cola develop on each plant.

V12, I'd join you there if I could! KNow what you mean about small venues. Motorhead are annual regulars at our local small venue, its about the same size. From the stage you're looking straight out to sea, its on the edge of a cliff, kind of suspended on 'stilts'! I had visions of the whole place crumbling into the sea under the pounding of that volume and Lemmys bass :-) But the atmosphere is excellent.

Re the neem oil, well I have had issues with spider mites in the past so I use neem as a preventative measure before they begin to bud up. Its not impossible that was the cause of my burning as you can fry them if you dont let it dry before going back under the lights! I've changed now to another spider mite control product, supposed to be very good and organic...... all OK so far anyway.....I detest the little bast***s !!

Have a good one.

they look real nice and frosty but how long more u think they got?
3 weeks-ish :-) Thats how long they will get:-) They've got plenty of growing to do yet, barely a red so far, those that have turned have got that nice orange colour to them :-) These Northern Lights are very different to my beloved Bubba O Kush but I'm seriuosly looking forward to smoking them !

Cheers Megax29.

floridasucks, how you doing :-) makes me laugh your username, us Brits are flocking to Florida for our holidays as usual this summer! Hows that pet of yours doing?

How long seed to finish cereb?

Thanks! SUBSCRIBED:peace:
HI 'thebigragu' :-)

Northern Lights is a good solid reliable strain, well worth growing. They finish pretty fast, a genuine '8 week' strain, but growing 12/12 from seed as I do I count flowering from first pre flowers, in this case 18 to 20 days, so I would be looking to finish them in a total of 70 to 77 days.

Heres the 'Nirvana' description again:

“Northern Lights is highly adapted to indoor growing. Nearly all promising modern indoor strains contain NL genes. High flower to leaf ratio, compact buds, good yields and exceptional resin production are all characteristics displayed by this wonderful plant. Northern Lights is a most lucrative plant for the indoor grower. The smoke is full bodied yet somewhat neutral in flavour.”

Thanks for all the comments :-) mysticlown, WonderWhats Next, thanks for looking in here.

One more shot taken at day 56. They have some time outdoors in the sun this last week. (The smaller plant is a Bubba O Kush). You can see the leaf damage from the issue I refered to earlier but all new growth is now good.

When exactly do you start tying the branches off for lst?
The first ties went in on day 16 from germination. One to anchor the stem back and another to pull the top down in the opposite direction. Its important to put in the 'anchor' tie first otherwise you could pull the roots too hard. A few days after that you will find that you can then pull that main top down a little harder, again making sure the anchor tie is pulling back in the opposite direction. Much simpler than it sounds to be honest.

Hope this helps.

I don't understand how they seperate veg from flowering since they are always in 12/12 is this faster? and do you germ your seeds in the soil? looks like it is wrapped in plastic for humidity

floridasucks: Thats a great thread, that one in the cage is a beast! Thanks for the link.

thebigragu: Yes, I'm a commited CFL grower thesedays, I'm happy with what I get :-) This last week has been hot and sunny so they have had a few hours (8 to 10 average) outdoors each day for the past 4 days.
but thats it.

Megax29: I'm sure it makes a difference, I mean the light levels are just so intense this time of year. Seing them gleaming like diamonds in the sun is something I enjoy, I find I just sit looking at them and smoke one :-)

WonderWhats Next: What we are really doing when we grow 12/12 from germination is force flowering, forcing them to show sex ASAP. But this will not happen straight away, they must reach a stage of maturity, the earliest I have seen personally was 18 days and I guess on average its 19 to 22 days. But all of this time they of course continue to grow and you can work with them LST etc.

Re: germination question, I place my seeds on kitchen paper and soak them, soon as I see those tails they go straight into the big pots and I cover with clingfilm, until they are up and almost touching the film.

PLC, Yes the LST keeps them short, when you tie down a branch it re focuses the growth energy further back along the branch and the side shoots will all begin to grow stronger.

Re: second part of your question I'm not quite getting the hang of that one mate :-)... but cheers,,,,I think!

Edited to add this, taken 5 minutes ago ....... Under 3 weeks to go now, its time to watch them fill out :-)

Sorry to keep changing the subject to noob questions but does it matter when you start lst? I have 2 plants about 2 feet tall each and i was thinking of giving it a try, they are still in veg so i dont see how it would matter thanks man for the nice replies and good work on your grow! :weed:
