Nirvana Full Moon First Grow

hello everyone.
I am attempting my first grow in my closet. The strain I am going to be growing is nirvana's full moon. i am going to be using a 250W agrosun gold mh conversion bulb and 2, 125W cfl's (1 red spectrum and 1 blue.) i am using a DWC system with a bucket and submersible pump (construction of the system i copied can be seen the link below). I am going to put a screen above her when she reaches 1 foot in height. it has been 4 weeks since the seed sprouted and i have just started her on the second set of nutes according to gh's feeding schedule. i have vegging with the full 500W of lights that i have. i have the lights switch on at 6pm and switch off at 12pm (18hrs), i swap out the reservoir on fridays 10 mins before the lights come on. the plant is in rock wool. there are roots popping out the bottom and there are 5 sets of leaves. I started nutes at 3 sets of leaves. i have been feeding her half strength nutes of the gh feeding schedule. any advise would be great.

So it has been one month since i placed my little seed into a damp paper towel. She (hopefully its a girl i dont know yet) is finally starting to grow how i imagined. I am changing the nutes every five days and by the looks of it she is loving it. She is still under all 500w and i am going to change her nutes tomorrow and take her into gh's 'aggressive' growth stage. The foliage seems to be growing very wellas there are many new sprouts from the main stem. the main stem has become thicker than i thought it would be at this stage. The growth speed has been fascinating in last week. I been using superthrive in all the batches of nutes and the root growth is phenomenal (but then again i have never grown another plant in my life) Should I add superthrive to every nute batch? I have been adding 1.25ml/gal of water. My nutes have been @ half strength of the suggested. I have been adding a cal mag supplement as well. I bring the pH to about 5.5. I dont exactly what it is as i am using a simple pH indicator after 5 days it seems to drift to about 7-7.5.

I left my apartment for four days and forgot to eave the a/c on!!! Where I live at this time of year the heat is dry and it beats down on you. It reaches about 105 everyday. When I opened my apt door I felt heat hit my face, so i ran over to my plant, but it looked good. There hardly any signs of stress, with the exception of 2 holes in leaves and a couple of small brow spots. I have 2 fans circulating air around the apt and in my closet so I guess this is what saved her. The thermometer read 93, but I have turned my a/c back on since then and have the fans blowing air around.

Add nutes in mentioned quantities. All nutes must be added while water is running. Remember to check water pump is not running by checking if the air pump is vibrating or not. Move the water pump first to the new bucket. Dispose of the old water in the tub. Any questions let me know

So a few things have happened since i lasted post here. I attempted to fit the screen above the pant but it fell on the plant the first night i put it up. not much damage was caused. I had to bend the main cola over so as it was already half way there (pics attached.) I then attempted to fit the screen on again, once again it fell on my plant (this time it snapped the main cola!!!) I acted quickly and topped the plant. i have now screwed the screen into a 2 by 4 and then into the wall. it seems to be sturdy now.

I used the top as a clone. I used super thrive, dipping the bottom into it and place it into rock wool with a balanced pH of 7. The clone suffered a burn but seems to be healthy. i am panning an outdoor grow for the clone. I was wondering whether clones needed 24 hours of light or is the regular 18 on 6 off ok?

The plant seems to be in god health and is growing well.

The plant has not been growing as fast or as big as I thought it would. I have been following gh's feeding schedule at half strength. For the last 2 weeks I have lessen the amount of water. this week its nutes are at full suggested amount by gh. there are several grow points on the plant which are interesting. Since the topping of the plant the growth from underneath seems to be fast. there about 5 points already touching the screen and there another another seven branching out at the moment.

Heyy man. sucks no1s postin in ur journal. =/ seems like a good journal. and its a good strain. ive grown it a few times. ill look 4 pics wen im home and write a better reply. lol. im on my phone and it sucks goin on the internet soo ill check this out later. good luck man!

hey man thanks fro posting on my journal.i was beginning to get worried that i was doing something wrong. please feel free to upload anything you think is relavent.

I am beginning to worry about my plant as growth seems to have slowed down a great amount. I using general hydroponics feeding schedule and have been feeding my plant the week 4 nutrients for the last 3 weeks at full strength, only diluting the suggested amounts with one gallon of water. I am also adding a cal-mag solution to make sure there are no deficiencies. The pH of the nute is at about 5.5 when i add them and when i change the reservoir they are at about 7-7.5. i am still adding 2ml of superthrive to every reservoir change. the growing very thick and turning a browny colour which i think is what the problem is. I have a pump that pushes room air into an air stone that is in a tub of sort right under the plant, where the roots are collecting. I am thinking of adding hydrogen peroxide to my next nute change, just to boost oxygen for the roots, and i am going to keep adding superthrive for the time being.

there are several nodes which are hitting the screens and even more trying to push out for light, underneath the canopy. I remove all of the fan leaves on the inside of the, ie all the fan leaves 2 nodes in, in an attempt to push growth more out and up rather than inside. that seems to have boosted new sprouts on the existing branches. overall the plant seems to be taking well to all the LST i put it through, although i heard that sativas do not enjoy LST.

Attached are some pics of the roots some of the growth and some fine herbage i came across in my daily travels. Again any advise on the given situation or anything relavent, please feel to post on this journal.

So it has been somewhat 2 months since my plant has been under the 500 watts of lights and now it seems to be giving up on me. i have not nearly filled the screen and had to take it off as the my plant seems to be struggling. I had been weaving the new growth through the screen when i had to take it off. some of the fan leaves have yellowed and have been falling off and there are signs of nute burn on the new growth, i have not flushed the plant as the signs have not furthered, ie they leaves have not become yellow even though the tips are blacking and curling down. the only new thing i added was H2O2 but i also added more such that ppm would stay lowered. pics are attached below. PLEASE HELP!

After hours of unrelenting research i finally found what maybe the problem. the brown roots are a sign of root rot, that may have occurred due to higher temperatures of the water in the bucket. I have changed my nutes, and added bushdoctor micro brew. I cut back on the gh solutions such that the ppm would not exceed the needed. I also have now put a plastic frozen coke bottle of water in my bucket to keep temperatures lower in the bucket. i have not changed the light schedule as i do not want my plant to go through too much shock at once. Once again i will ask people to post their opinions and possible solutions.
