Nirvana Bubblelicious Closet Grow

The top of the canopy in the flower room is really getting a hard yellow tinge to it now. The leaves up there are still green along the veins and then slowly fade to yellow. I believe this is because i went full on with pure blend pro flower a week too early. The first week I moved them into the flower room they were given half veg/half flower nutes, next time arouind I will keep pure veg stage nutes for the first week of the flower room and then go half/half. To hopefully remedy this i foliar sprayed with pro veg and then drained the resevoir and filled it up with veg nutes which will be for the rest of this week for starters.

Heres to hopefully doing things right based upon advice of others, vids, and books.

- Anyone have Jorge Cervantez Medical Marijuana Bible? I do and really enjoy it, but I am curious if there is a better reference for strictly indoor growers?

Are you sure your light isn't bleaching out your leaves? If you get a strong light close enough the leaves will start to yellow out. Also I don't like to push my growing style on others (like some people we know LOL) but I never was one for foliar feeding. I pull killer yields without ever spraying anything on my plants. IMO there is more potential for harm than good. I'm also not a big Jorge fan. He makes some basic mistakes in his videos that make me wonder. For example he has one about harvesting where he strings the drying buds up outside in direct sunlight. Yikes.

I just had a couple of leaves that looked like that today. I looked at my roots and they looked a little brown. Since i am using organic nutrients i had to take my plants our and dip them in some hydrogen peroxide for 20-30 seconds. you will hear the roots bubble which means the infection is being treated i believe. I also added some hygrozyme to my res and some superthrive.

That stuff works great. Since I started using it my temps are good, roots are healthy, smells fresh all the time.
Before I had bad res smell, brown roots, high temps. Works better than H2O2 IMO.
Fred your grow looks great, I'm subscribing to this thread. I have some seeds of the same strain from nirvana so i'm curious to see how this grow plays out.
Keep up the good work.

what's the temp of your reservoir?
Heya Never, well I dont have a way to measure the temp of the resevoir right now, but I have always been self aware of how cool or warm the water is to the touch when feeding/watering. Usually it slightly cool to the touch, basically room temperature I would guess when in the veg/flower feeding resevoirs. I also touch the water coming from the drip and it too is cool to the touch.

Now in my main resevoir which is not in my growing area at all, that fluctuates because well...its in the garage. That can be quite warm at times, in there I have two air stones, a eco pump which is constantly on to keep the water circulating, pure RO, and I have started to add Aquashield to it as well due to the buildup of heat that can occur.

So I guess you saying its possibly heat? ;)

Wow thanks for chiming bro. I hadnt thought of that at all or known that could happen to be honest. Well its a 600w HPS and I am keeping it about 6-8 inches above the canopy at all times. The past two days they have also grown that same amount forcing me to the raise the lights every night since tuesday. Not experiencing any burn, but perhaps this is too close?

NIYCE! Glad you are along for the ride mane! :leaf:

I talked to the guy at my hydro store when buying the Aquashield and he said it served the same purpose as hygro. Of course active ingredients are different, but I went with the Aquashield because I was already using Botanicare Products. I dont know if he was right or not either. I just started to add this stuff this on Tue this week.

Freddie, my man. Why have I not been here sooner. You are too modest bro.

I love the whole grow. Love your journal, plants, set-up, everything.

The rez water is too warm. You need to keep that water below 70. I'm guessing it's probably up near 75 and that's why the slime.

I don't think you are bleaching the leaves, but I could be wrong. I would think a leaf would need to be solidly within 6 inches of the middle of the bulb to bleach off a 600w. I could be wrong though, haha... a lot of help I am.

I'm stoked to be here to completion.

and to mared juwan... nice plants indeed. And nice controller... I'm a ps3 guy too.

:peace:

Hey, Fred, I got the PM.

I think that sick leaf in the pic was just a normal natural FAN leaf dying off becuase you are in 12/12 Flowering Cycle. I bet it was a day or two AFTER starting BLOOM nutes, that are low in Nitrogen. I am experimenting with adding 1/6 dose of VEG Nutes (Nitorgen) to my girls in Flowering now. The lower Fan leaves quit yellowing and dying off.

And you need to get a water themometer fast, at Walmart or any aquarium store, they have one that floats or sticks to the sides for about $2 or $4.

$2 to $4 at Walmart, Target,
PetSmart Aquarium Dept

Very nice so far Fred!! It's looking crowded in there! I tried Nirvana's Bubblicious earlier this year yielding 3 males... boo. I started 2 more just a few weeks ago and they both died on me due to some sour compost (I think)... but anyways - looks like you're going to have some real gems here! Good luck! =)

Hi Magik, thank you very much for your compliment. I did this setup during the summer and poured a lot of sweat into the design and function.

You have 5 in veg? They grow rather fast do they not?

Jig, your kind words go a long way! Thank you much :bigjoint: Very big compliment to me that you are even interested in the grow to begin with!

After cleaning off the 'slime' on the tube in the main resevoir, adding aquashield, and most importantly it seems....temperatures finally freaking dropping where i live and the water is now nice and cool.

Looking fwd to any advice you have bud, thanks again :)

Hey Roseman thanks a lot for stopping by my Journal! I will def get a cheap thermometer like that for sure if they are only under 5 bucks. Here is to the bubbleheads :)

Hey Fred, just a quick question. Is bubblelicious an auto-flowering strain?
Whatsup Infexion, when I purchased this strain it did not state anything about autoflowering. With that said though, one of the two plants I just transplanted into the flower room was already showing signs of flowering while it was in the veg room. This was the 6th week of the plant's lifecycle. Hope that helps. :bigjoint:

Geez Dayz I am sorry for the bad luck you had with your Bubblelicious plants. I will def let you know if they are worth possibly giving just one more try to grow or not. In a weird twist, I had a power strip dan on an exhaust fan a few grows ago which ended up bringin the temp in the grow room so for just 90 mins that it totally killed a 4ft tall bubblelicious female I had growing. (sweet) It just dont wanna live I guess :wall: Hope to see you around bro.

Alright, the verdict is in on the first 4 in the flower room. Just as usual, 2 Male, 2 Female. I have removed the 2 males and moved the 2 females to the back of the flower room. Then I brought in the last two plants from the veg room making it 4 plants total in the flower room again.

I am pretty sure that 1 of the plants i transplanted though is a male, but its going to take a few more days to be sure. The other plant I transplanted however has not even begun to flower and so i took a few clones from it before moving it over to the flower room. Hopefully it is a female! (i just dont have room for mother plants anywhere otherwise i would try to properly clone)

Will do my best to post updates with pics tomorrow.

:bigjoint:

P.S. - THESE PLANTS ARE GROWING AT INSANE PACE FOR ME. 3-5" A DAY AT CERTAIN POINTS.
