Wow, thanks for the relies! Some of this stuff sounds like a different language to me, but I REALLY want to learn! Please bear with me, as I've had a rough couple days. PM's are coming!

Everyone has success stories with all kinds of products/mixes. It really comes down to what you do after they're in the ground.
I've had fine results with a 50/50 mix of ProMix and FF Ocean Forest. Start feeding one week after transplant. Then I use the FF feeding schedule (3 liquids, 3 solubles). I also give 'em a bit of epsom about once/month and I use a couple mycorrhizae products. About it.

I've seen references to FFOF, or FF Ocean Forest. What is it?

Do you guys get your stuff from any specific garden suppliers, or just like Home Depot.....?

Foxfarm Ocean Forest potting soil. Good stuff. I get mine at High Tech Garden supply in Portland. Sold in a lot of places though. Not Home Depot or someplace like that, but garden stores.

Ok, I've been reading a bunch of posts here and looking into stuff that you guys gave me links to(Thank you very much for that). I've PM'd some folks and hopefully with help from these people, I can get started.

Now, do I have to buy clones or seeds from a dispensary? I just recalled the guy at the local dispensary had me sign a form that gives them the rights to grow one plant for me. That seems like a load of crap, because I do NOT plan to spend any of my meager wages on their high(huh huh) priced meds that seemed kinda dried out to me, but what do I know? I guess once I get things up an growing, I'll cancel their ticket(I think that's how it works).

Also, I DO want to learn about using teas and the proper nutrients to have healthy, happy plants! I'm assuming I shouldn't just grab a homer bucket, fill it with soil and go? I guess I should find a professional garden supply store in the L/A area for the proper pots, watering schedules, nutrients and ventilation. Anyone know of one?

Some folks offered to assist me with equipment and some basic education. I would like to take you up on these offers.

I DO appreciate all of your guidance and replies gentlemen(and ladies if it applies).

Letting the dispensary maintain rights to one plant does give you someplace to get meds in a pinch.
Where are you located anyway? County, town?

I have yet to find a shop in auburn. I go to Paris farmers union in turner for soil and other accessories. can't beat their soil prices.

If u got a little startup money. I would get either a bale of pro mix and foxfarms three part nutes. or an already amended soil ffofor roots organic and add extra worm casting and flower nutes and molasses. but if u choose the latter u may also need a seedlings mix for the first couple weeks.

Yep, nuttin wrong with ProMix, especially if $ is an issue. I did side by side comparisons a couple times last year, using various combinations of ProMix, FFOF and Roots, as well as each by itself and with various strains (some 20 plants in all lol). I honestly did not see a huge difference among any of them. They were all fed the same once established in final pots.

The place tet mentioned, HTG supply is about the cheapest for grow supplies. Lowes is about the cheapest I've found for pro-mix. Get seeds online. Look in the seedbank reviews section for a good bank for ya. Or you can find clones from a patient or caregiver.

It states: "Medical Card Holders Receive 5% off". Are they referring to the license I hold? If so, I wonder if we get 20% off that Sunday(10/20). I like to save. I might sweet-talk my lady into taking me to this event!

HTG is always 5% off for patients/caregivers. I'm pretty sure that when they run something special like Grow Depot is running, it's on top of the 5%.

Oh, and HTG has this points system. Every dollar you spend gets a point and you redeem points for merchandise. I've gotten a lot of stuff that way...lights, nutes, whatever.
