Newbie To The Growing Game.

Hi every one,
I am looking on buying some good female seeds , I am a first time grower and wanting a little help on what seeds I should go for , friends have told me , white widdow , blue cheese , and ak47 are some good seeds to buy, I have done a lot of research on growing , and now I think I am confident enough to put it to the test , I will be growing indoors , please get back to me on what seeds you think I should go with and a price. Any tips on growing will be a bonus thanks :-P:-P

What do you like to smoke? Any specific strains? Prefer indica or sativa effects? Do you mind waiting through a long flowering time or do you want as quick of a harvest as possible? What will your growspace be like? Have plenty of height or need something that tends to be shorter?

By the way, I mention this for safety, but if you have a lot of friends that already know you are going to be growing - might want to start practicing a little CYA and start being more discrete about it. Even if you trust your friends, people talk...

blue cheese is what i like to smoke , but not to fussed on what at grow first , I would like my first crop to be a quick one just to see the results and self satisfaction asap , then i wouldn't be to bothered about having to wait long after this crop , my growing room is 6ft wide , 12ft long and 8ft high , one end of my room as an xtractor fan sucking air out and the other end of the room as a xtractor reversed sucking air in , the room as been fully disinfected and will be free from any bugs , got all the materials apart from soil , lights , and seeds , recommended light ? i only have a small budget at the moment , i understand on the dangers of letting people know , but i asked these people a while back and HOPFULLY they wont remeber me asking.

From what I learned, go with a 400 watt if you can, use MH for veg, and HPS for flower. If you have a small space, you could get away with a 250. my space is very small, but I switched to a 400 after watching one of my plants stretch for the moon.

Hey man, Blue Cheese is indica dominant, so it should have a relatively fast flowering time, relatively short and stocky shape, and relatively decent sized yield for the time spent growing. Probably wouldn't be a bad choice since you like smoking it. If this is a first-time grow, might want to practice germinating and getting some plants through the seedling stage without killing them with love before trying expensive seeds - but that's up to you and your finances.

As far as lighting, the easy answer is to get a big one. lol Finances and practical concerns (like security, space, and heat) will dictate needing to go with something of smaller size and wattage. For a simple one-light-does-all solution, High Pressure Sodium (HPS) lights are the mainstream choice right now. Metal Halide (MH) lights are less popular for flowering, but usually considered better for vegetative growth. Fluorescent and CFL lighting is popular for smaller wattage, small-space, and lower-heat grows. LEDs are a bit controversial with growing right now and tend to be expensive compared to proven alternatives.

Just research and read these forums all you can before you start buying expensive stuff - it will save you many headaches and dead plants.

A really good reference source is to jump on the grow journals section of the forums here. People will usually post what they grew with (lights/strains) in the title. It's fairly easy to find older/completed journals and see the results in a real-world setting with people of different growing knowledge.

Pot of Gold is an indica dominated F1 hybrid designed by American and Dutch seed breeders who crossed a Hawaiian indica with a famous Skunk #1. The result was above all their expectations, a new strain with well balanced indica/sativa qualities.
The Cannabis Seeds have a 95%-100% germination rate after being just 12 hours in the damp paper towels. They produce healthy looking seedlings and are mould and stress resistant. Don't be afraid to overfeed these babies - they just suck it all up with no signs of burn whatsoever. The plants grow fairly vigorously, several toppings are required until they rich their full size of around 3 ft. Compact seedling really explode in outward and upward growth and nearly double in size once put under a usual 12/12 light cycle.
Once flowering starts, it becomes evident that Pot of Gold is one of the fastest flowering phenotypes, her first flowers start to grow lots of white hairs already at the 2nd week. After it, she simply bursts into flowering, completely changing the general structure of the cannabis plant to a very branchy indica with a couple of branches rivalling the main cola for size and height. Resins appear at around 3rd week and fully coat the buds. The smell of the flowers is skunky sweet, very enjoyable. The flowering period lasts 8 weeks resulting with an average yield as high as 5oz of quality marijuana per plant.

shit bro, you can go with those... better end product... but if your growin for yourself some cfl bulbs are easier on the bills...

i dont think you can say that here bro lol

but yeah cfls are easy on the wallet and if you live with parents than cfl is the way to go to avoid questions lol

I can tell you first hand from the horses mouth ... they are MORE than they make out :)

I just finished finished posting the results of my POG Grow .... and i can't falt them .
