Newbie....Outdoor grow

Hi I wanted to ask a simple question, I planted 5 seeds outdoor, and they have sprouted 2 weeks ago. My friend is growing the same plants indoor, and they are much shorter than mine. I wanted to know if it's normal for outdoor plants to bee taller there about 6-7 inches ,they get 6-7 hours of direct light, is that enough?

My guess is that your friends plants are shorter because he has the light really close to his plants compared to you. Plants will always stretch towards the light. Poor lighting makes lanky plants.
