Ok I'll run off my numbers and room real fast. Looking for help maximizing my space. I have a 10x10 room with an attached bathroom for water and exhaust out of the ceiling as well as exhaust into the floor vents returning to the rest of the house after scrubber. 10x10. 2x 600w hps. 2x 400w old school m59 MH fixtures. 5000btu ac intake at 600cfm. 2x 4in vortex type fans with charcoal filters for exhaust. No mylar no white paint. Linoleum floor. 33 plants in dirt. 11 in FFOF. 11 in FFHF. 11 in Botanicare ready grow air. Which is garbage imho. And I also have 8 in a DWC bucket running GH 3 part. Had a nute lockout problem with some plants in the botanicare soil because it holds so much water but it was corrected. I am on day 3 of flower. Will post pics. Looking for any tips on maximizing my space. Temps are 72-77 lights on or off depending on the outdoor temp. Plenty of fans going and lots of air moving. All plants are from seed and all female. Strains differ. Love this site. First site to join but have been using it for refrence for years. Please post any and all comments. Need criticism or I won't get better at growing so don't be shy. Thanks in advance! Newbie!

No? Just felt like being a dick to a new member for no reason? Thanks bud! Nomaste!
That's not going to get you feed back.

I can tell you this. I'm not personally reading a post that long for an open ended question.

Everything you want to know about basic growing is easily found in the search bar. Use google if you want to confirm info from another source. There are SO many threads that cover every aspect of growing. In most cases you can find your answer faster than waiting for an answer.

Now if you've done all that and have a problem. Ask a specific question while providing as much useful info about said problem. Extra info that has nothing to do with the question skip it. In most cases a picture is worth a thousand words.

There's also general growing books. Because to be honest you really can't tell if you are getting responses from knowledgeable people or some yahoo. The laws of physics don't change. There's no one who will ever know more about your garden then you.

The general "rules" of growing are all over the web. Each room is different. You make choices and decisions along the way. Sometimes you've got to balance 2 things and you'll never have both be ideal. But if anyone is making those choices it should be you.

ok then. your plants are healthy but look like shit. train them better. make all your tops the same height. most lst. I hst (I'm a controlling ass hole lol). if a top isn't gona make it. cut it. the plant is going to put most of its energy into the highest top because outside that top has the best chance to get pollinated. all the tops within an inch in height make for very uniform buds instead of one giant one and a bunch of small larf

I asked a specific question. Help maximizing my space. Was just trying to be as informative as possible so anyone who read it had as much info as possible. I joined this site because of the user interaction in posts just like mine. If I had a specific question I would simply pick up the phone and make a call. If your a seasoned member why not post this in your first response? Instead of making a fruitless comment about how I am using my account? I think I could post my post on every forum if I wanted? But I put it in the 3 obvious forums for intelligent responses.......so I thought. But hey I'm just a newbie! Happy growing! Maverick out!

Thanks dynamo! My canopy is fairly even. I have 4 independent light fixtures. So I put ones of the same height under lights together. I have topped and super cropped all but 1 plant. It is day 4 of flower right now. So I am waiting until day 14 and I will go in and clean up the bottoms lollipop where needed. Also remove all larf not within 24 inches of the light. 6 got out of control and we're just transplanted to 5 gallon pails with no sign of shock this morning after doing it last night. These 6 have over 10 tops and are about 25 in tall. Any tips on how to maxize my light? Paint is not an option and mylar is so lame¿ thanks again keep it coming! I will upload pics I took this morning so criticize away please!

The only way to optimize anything to make make the coditions right. ENVIRONMENT search. As I said the rules don't change. Air flow -temp - lighting - genetics - don't over crowd - nutrients. Look up each one and learn about it. Then see how to make that work in your area.

You may be a newby time-wise but your material list suggests a more advanced grower.

I noticed you got 3 groups of 11 plants each. Sounds like some sort of experiment with soil types?

With your advanced supplies and knowledge the only thing I can suggest off the top of my head is to make cloning a challenge and learn to master that. I got a perpetual grow going where I harvest 2 plants a week. I shop at Attitude for beans and prices average $10-12 each for seeds. With cloning the price drops to virtually zero. Bonus,
using clones gives you a lot more control over timing. I use mostly short bushy indicas and using clones lets me have better control over what stages the plants are in.

Good luck (but I don't think you'll need it), BigSteve.

Thank you Steve. Your post really made me feel better about my grow. I have grown before and have mastered most actions needed for an on going harvest. You are right. I did 11 each in different soil to see which preformed best before flower with my 90 day veg. I'm leaning towards Ffof. Shit had grown 2x as big versus Ffhf and botinicare ready grow air. Which is trash imho. Next round will be all Ffof with gh 3 part and big bud tiger bloom for the full cycle. I have a hydro tub so using gh 3 part makes it easy to purchase nutes. I have a mother that the s supposed to be ssnumber1. I'll post pics of clones and mother tonight. I'm looking to harvest every 60 days at at least .75 gpw with 2k Watts of light. Plenty of room and an ll does not matter. Please any more info would be so great. I'm in day 4 of flower. On day 14 I will be lollipopping and ridding plants of larf. I have 4p clones but idk of I did it right? Been 8 days no roots. Have in warm area dome off misting 2x a day and watering so rockwool is not ry. Tbh I might just go with seeds again. I'm terrible at cloning. All my plants are from seed in the pics. 42 plants only 2 males so far. Appreciate the comments! Need more tips as all ways¡

I'ze curious as to your 90 veg cycle. My indicas spend 5 weeks in the veg room(400W HPS) then 7 weeks (1000W HPS) to flower. Total of 12 weeks and/or 84 days. Is there a reason you picked such a long veg period? Here's why I asked-----

From all my experimenting and talking to others I'm convinced that a program of 5 weeks/7 weeks is the most efficient for perpetual grows. I am able to dedicate 4 square feet of floor space to flower for every square foot used to veg. If I vegged anywhere near as long as you I would not be able to flower nearly as many plants as I do. By vegging until my plants are 20-24 inches I can pretty well count on them stretching to twice that height while flowering. The flowering room is going to be your choke spot, eh? You want the flowering room as full as possible for maximum efficiency.

I like the Fox Farms dirt but don't like spending twice what the MiracleGro Potting Mix costs me. Advantages of Fox Farms include -
*just about double as much perlite as the MG PM.
*FF is less "dirty" with smaller chunks of wood and railroad ties.
*Almost all sellers keep their FF inside where it is less likely to get wet. (Don't bother with the MG PM if the bag is heavy and wet. It will never dry out sufficiently.)

Good luck, BigSteve.

Hey BigSteve! So I did a 90 day veg with my first set of plants because I was still getting everything ready and needed for the flower room. I have a very large flower room. If I filled it up completely it would probably hold something like 60 plants in 5 gallon pails. It will take me a while to get things down and get it dialed in before I even think of filling it the whole way. As of now I am vegging my next batch however long it takes to flower the first group so 7 to 9 weeks. Once they are chopped down I will move the next batch in right behind the it's group withing 2 days after I clean my flower room. And I am going to try and keep it close so I'm pretty much flowering everyday of the year. I have plenty of room for veg in a large closet so no need to divide my flower room in 2. Happy growing!

You get what you get. Especially with cfl!
As far as over kill I doubt it. But you've got to give more info for accurate answer like the work area. I'd move on to a better light source. Light equals energy you want strong plants it takes energy food and fresh air!

Mixing in perlite prior to use and a pot that has enough holes on the bottom.
