Newbie lighting questions

Hi all, justa a quickie, been doing sum research into different lighting options and from what ive read,it seems warm white fluorescent tubes would provide the right red spectrum, and daylight tubes would provide blue. Does anyone know if this is correct?

You really want to look at the Kelvin ratings. 2700K for flower and 6500K for veg.

2700K is generally called warm white and anywhere from 5000-6800 is considered day light

I think the daylight 1s were 6700k. Would that be ok or does it have to be bang on 6500? Its autoflowers im thinking of doing anyway so the reds more important isnt it? Just wanna keep everything as low cost as possible

6700 is fine. to be honest so is 5500. No experience with auto flowers but I personally would start with a 3:1 of 6500:2700 and then flip that two or three weeks in.

Thanx gastanker thats exactly wot i wantd to hear. I woz gonna lower the ratio slightly tho, 5:2 maybe. Im designin a cabinet atm, either for auto's or 12/12 from clone. Only got a very small space to work with, n choppers over all the time so think tubes will b my best option. Does anyone know if LEDs are any good? There are some on ebay around £20 bt find it hard to believe they will work when the ufo triband 1s r roughly £100
