Newbie here... 1st grow... question about the strain...pic included..

hey Everybody,

A ton of info on this site... I can't imagine doing this without the info I got from you fine folks here..

I have been doing my 18/6 with a 400W MH lamp, just recently made a scrubber and a cO2 bottle..I'm only about 5 weeks into the journey... And... thanks again for all the info..

Now on to the reason for the post.. I have a few little pretties growing, initially smelled a little skunky.. but the smell seemed to only be coming from a couple of the plants even though they all look identical with regards to the strain.. The stinky'er ones were the smaller ones, and the large ones had little to no smell.. don't know if that is regular.

Is there a way to tell the strain at 5 weeks, by looking at a picture?

I know once it starts to flower it might be easier to tell what it is.. just curious if you veterans would care to make an educated guess?

well it would be hard to indentify the exact "strain", i mean since theyre by the thousands...but looks like you got a lil indica growin there my friend! im on my first grow as well, 600hps with 1 indica and 2 sativas. the sativas ive been able to smell since week 2 from seed, but 3 n a half weeks into flower theyre showin minimal pistil developement, yet growin ata exponential rate...ill probably run outta room, still got at least another month n half to go n im bout 2 feet from the top of the tent lol (tallest one is 40 inches)...but my indica is already budding VERY nicely, a much darker green and very bushy. so if you dont know the exact name of the strain, mite as well make 1 up yourself! after all, it is YOUR baby haha...happy growin, keep updatin!

You can't really tell the strain at all unless I guess somehow when you smoked it you could tell by the flavor of the smoke but that is assuming that your growing a "known" strain and not some bagseed or a degraded form of some lesser known strain.
