newb with hydro, need some help please

hello, not new with growing but new in the hydo area. i usually germinate my seeds in a paper towel and plant it, my question is if i germinate in the paper towel and plant in the hydro system (ebb and flow) how far down do i plant it in the rockwool? and when my water is at its max does it touch the root, if so how much does it touch or cover?

First off blow off the rockwool and go get little black plugs and clay pellets. With that said once it is ready split the plug in half and put in the root. Put the plug in the basket with the clay pellets and set water to rise to top of the plug. That should not be that hard to do as most ebb systems have the drain plug set already. I have grown every thing you can think of in hydro and the rockwool is nothing but a damm bug magnet.

black plug? im using a pvc set up with 2 litre bottles as my ebb and flow. so like i said im a newb with hydroponics so if you could maybe explain a little on the plugs?

so do it let the water level go the the tip of the newly started root?

does anyone have any information? what do i do after i use a paper towel to germinate? do i just put it in my grow medium? but how mush should the water level cover the root?

Be very gentle of the taproot use tweezers place the seed into your preferred media loosely cover it about 1/4" down add phd water...

okay now lets say my seed with its little root is in the medium, does the water hit the tip of the root when it floods? so this way the roots gets its nuts? i have the timer set to flood 4 times in its life cycle and it floods for 15 minutes each time.

Don't think you should add any nutes yet, you'll burn it for sure. Wait til she (hopefully) gets a few leaf sets first.Just use water with the right ph for now.

In my hyhdro I. Just germinated the seeds and put the roots in the spaces in the rocks. I figured it was just like soils the roots would travel through the rock giving its self an anchor. Worked great for me. As of water level I put it and left it thrroughout my grow at the bottomof the net pot. I water the seedling small amonts of water like a tablespoon twice or three times a day till the roots hits the water
