Newb Plant Question - Another What's Wrong?

Hey Everyone,

First time grower and got some issues with my plants.

These are roughly 1 month old and started from seed. At the edge (not the tips) of some of the leaves there seems to be some brown spots coming in. Some of the plants also have some tips of their of leaves going brown-ish and curling.

They are in rockwool cubes and planning to do DWC. They are given PH altered water between 5.5-6 with nutrients PH Perfect Tech Micro, Grow and Bloom.

They are under a T5 bulb in a dome with a heat pad.

Any suggestions?

Bit small prob coz low lighting...u are getting another light yeah?


Are u set on DWC? I wouldn’t recommend it for ur first grow at all.

Is it too late to Try coco if u are set on pure hydro,

I’d recommend just using Those ph perfect and coco mate seen as u got the bottles

What specifically did u wanna ask about?

Remove your dome; it's not needed at this point. Get your plants set up in your DWC system and get to growing. Good luck.

My ask was regarding some brown patches at the end of some of the leaves (picture attached), is this normal or what do you think my error is?

I did misspeak in my original post, it won't be DWC it will be a bubble bucket (https://curiouscultivations.com/2018/08/10/the-bubble-bucket-hydroponic-gardening-methods/).

In regards to coco/soil, a hydroponic type build is just something that I've always wanted to try, so I chose this method. If this does fail, I will take a step back and retry with a coco mix.

For lights, I did order 2 HLG 65s last week, but I'm still waiting for them to show up. I have 4 HLG 96v2s ready to go, but I figured those would come on later when they've been re-potted (which seems to be soon).

I have removed the dome and suspended the T5 now. I will move this over to the pots soon, was planning for this weekend.

How much should the roots be coming out of the bottom before putting them in the pots?

That bubble bucket is DWC.
