so i bought a led t8 drop in philips bulbs works very well good . got my baby plants 6 inches tall in 2 weeks . now i need these ladies 12 inches tall . i could use the led but i currently am in a rush but a cheap fuck . so what i am currently doing running the led 24/7 side lighting and my mh 1000 watt will turn on 8 hours a day total on top of plants . so i am splitting the 8 hours super strong mh light up 8 hours so its 2/2/2/2 evenly spaced through the 24 hour day . so there is 24/7 lighting but its greatly juiced up . i will let you know how it works in a few days. it will be like a shady day .

This is a great way to trash your MH bulb. They really don't like to cycle excessively, ruins longevity.

Or, run your big MH for 12 hours and your led for an hour in the middle of the dark cycle. This is called gaslight timing and it's both effective with high wattage veg and frugal.
That's one method i have not done yet. I remember looking into it a few years ago and cant remember, but I'm sure there was someone here doing it. Might have been riddle?

i do not care about the mh bulb i have so many bulbs i can care less lol . like i said i am tying this idea . results are unknown . if i run this 1000 watt lamp it will cost me 160 bucks 24/7 and the led costing me 19 bucks so 8 hours 1000 watt and the led total bill is 72 bucks . saves me 87 bucks ! well worth the try . how much intense light do plants really need ?
