Hey all. I'm new to this site, not new to growing really but I wanted to get anyone's opinion on how my babies are doing. Here's the scoop on what I've got going. 400w switchable lamp ($250, it's worth it last 2 cheapies died). In a basement, about 5x4x5 growing area. It's a litte dry down there but I just make sure the soil doesn't dry out TOO much (a little I know is ok as plants get bigger). Walls are painted flat white. This has helped out SOOOO much in addition to the smaller size of the roon (was growing in 6x6x6). I was worried about the 400w light in such a small space but it seems to be going well. My buddy who I'm growing with germinated and planted the seeds and for whatever reason, used a 5 gal. bucket which is ok but not so good given the limited height of the grow room. The plant leaves started turning completely upside down and I raised the lamp as high as possible and moved the platn in the 5 gal bucket (rest are 3 gals) off to the side. I have a duel 4-6 inch fan constantly blowing in fresh air. I used a combo of about 50% miracle grow potting soil, 1/4 perlite, 1/4 vermiculate, a litte cow manure and fine dolomite lime. As you can see in the pic, the back plant is looking a little droopy. This is NOT over/under watering as I/we monitor the moisture of the soil a couple times a day. I've had over/under watering issues in the past and have learned my lesson. I was thinking it was time to fert so we started all plants (5) on tomato form. MG fert. Plants are only about 3-3/12 weeks only and they are the biggest plants at this age I've grown so far. They're about 1-1/2 feet and BUSHY!!!!! Since they are growing so fast and I want to take clones, we are changing to 12/12 light cycle to determine sex. Is it ok to use just enough fert so plants are droopy and at the same time, change light cycle to determine sex?

Every couple of days when I check out the plants they have grown soooo much. Hopefully, things keep going the way they are. I tried cloning last time but all 5 clones died! Basically, I cut the branch (4-6 inches) at a 45 degree angle with clean scissors, put the cutting in room temp water, left in the dark for 24 hours, dipped in ppwder rooting hormone, and put in vermiculite under fluoro's and they all died! What did I do wrong and anyone have a fool proof or close to method of cloning? Plants are doing so well and I'd like to harvest every couple of months with about 4=5 plants. Thanks for any/all help and comments/suggestions on my kids are welcome.

No replies for the new guy? Let me know what you guys (and girls) think. I've heard it may hurt the plants but I switched the lighting to 12/12 to determine sex and then plan to put back to veg. Is this ok? I'm going to clone the fems but I really would like to know which ones are females to they can have the extra space. Let me know what y'all think please!!!!!!

I wouldn't flower reveg and flower personally, I think it can put a lot of stress on the plant and slow your progress or worse. they do look like they are doing very well so far some looked a bit underwatered but nothing too bad. As far as the cloning I don't think that the clone should be left out for 24 hours without cloning gel (I may have misread you there). All in all you've done some good growing so far. Good luck with the rest.
