New to RIU

Hey all, my first time here, I'm pretty new to growing MJ, started my first grow this year with 7 bagseeds, lost all my plants to some bastard raccoons :cuss:and its pretty much too late in the season here to start more cannabis from a seed outdoors, so I'm pretty much out of the game til next April, any tips are welcome:bigjoint:

It was in my barn attic, I thought they were safe at night when I'd close the door but they still managed to find a way in next year I will tray that cage idea and set up a few traps just incase

Not at the moment I live with family, but once I get my cabin in the woods built (and electricity ran out to it) I will be able to, but until then I can only grow outdoors in the family barn attic or in the woods

You sure a family member didnt come across them in the barn? If you have any streams, creeks or small rivers hell even a pond in your woods that would probably be safer. Plus you would get the added bonus of having dechlorinated water right there next to your grow. Just make sure their not right there on the bank so that if it rains they dont get washed out as easily. Also try to find a area covered in thorn bushes or other unpleasant plant life. It will help deter other people from stumbling over the garden.

Im positive it wasn't family, and there are two small ponds I could plant near but the problem with them is that there is too much foot traffic to the larger pond when its full and both are pretty much completely shaded by trees, I did however find a great spot today when I walked the property, lists of briar vines around the perimeter of the clearing, plenty of trees and bushes to hide the spot, and it gets 10+ hours of direct sunlight, the only drawback is that there is no water source near the spot so I would have to just carry 2 liters of declorinated water mixed with some GH flora series to the spot

If there any brush piles near by it you could move some of the brush. Not enough that would be noticed. And bury a good 10-20 gallon jug there. If you really wanted to get creative i bet you could figure some way of collecting rainwater down there. Another thing you could try is getting a electric pump and a car battery and pump up water from one of the ponds. You could probably find a pretty cheap solar charger on ebay or at harbor freight. There are several models that actually fold up for easy storage in a vehicle. Ive never grown outdoors ive got the areas for it and a few perfect spots. Just never have enough bagseed to try it out. So id just take my ideas like grains of salt lol. Maybe next year we can help each other out.

I'm planning on planting the 5 bag seeds I have at the moment come April along with some Kaya Gold that I'm gonna buy from NirvanaShop, shouldn't have too many problems with insects due to a lot of predator insects here, if not I can just go catch some praying manti and lady bugs and try to encourage them to take care of them

If you have any meliot around. You could harvest it in spring. Then make a extract from it and use it as a organic pesticide.

I plan on just using my brick bagseed and maybe some seeds from my own tinkering with seedsman og kush and royal queens euphoria

I prefer organic pesticides over chemical, better yet I prefer to have the bugs do the work for me lol but I guess sometimes the bugs aren't enough :peace:

To bad it would be kinda strange to have a group of guineas in the middle of the woods they are great at pest control. Meliot though is actually a common legume found in the US. They produce yellow flowers and resemble alfalfa in leaf shape and growth pattern. They are also great as a organic fertilizer. The only reason meliot or "sweet clover" isnt harvested for livestock is becuase when it ferments it become toxic. Plus the plant tastes really bitter.
