is a 100k pot sufficient for dimming? also whats the difference between the 120,185 and 240 drivers? Ive already sent a price request but want to make sure I get the correct drivers. Sorry I tend to over think things.

120 = 150 watts
185 = 200 watts
240 = 250 watts

The 2 120s will be just right for 8 3590s.

You probably want dimming if you're vegging in there too. Pots generally have a +-3% accuracy (or slightly more or less depending on which pot. The more expensive ones are more accurate) so it's possible a pot will limit your output to 97% or whatever. For this reason I usually suggest adding a 10K ohm resistor in series with the pot, but since your PPFD is going to be pretty high anyway you could skip the resistor no worries. If you get a pot and wire both drivers to it you will need a 50K ohm pot. If you get a pot for each lamp then you will need 2 100K ohm pots, one for each.

You might like the adjustability of a pot, but I prefer putting a switch and resistor in series between the dim wires. For instance, if wiring two drivers to a switch and resistor, a 25K ohm resistor would provide 50% output. If wiring one driver to a switch and resistor a 50K ohm resistor would provide 50% output.

like the switch better. These wattages are scaring me a bit. I've been doing the 400/600 so long that 300 seems too low.or have I been over killing it?

The 300 watt lamp you're looking at building will be 56% efficient. It won't be quite the same as 600 watts but will kill the 400.

So which cxb did you choose?
If it is the 3500ºk CD it will be 60% @1050mA!
Did you bought it from cutter?...they are cheaper there with cuttandroll code!

Not atm...but maybe they will...but I would do the same...take everything from Jerry...and ask him if he can do the same price than cutter on your cxb...it could work!...
Because it is 44$ and free shipping for cob in cutter...idk!

got just about everything ordered. What wattage of resister do you recommend? Ill be running 2 switches so i know I need 50k

If one switch for each driver, the resistors K ohm rating would be the same as the percentage of 100 brightness you want the switch to flip too. 50K ohm = 50% brightness, etc.

I got everything ordered except for resistors which I can get locally. Woke up to phone calls from credit card company saying I had fraudulent charges. Ugh! The froze payments so I had to reorder. Don't get me wrong I'm glad they are watching so I don't get robbed but damn it makes shit difficult.

It is for amount over 500 $...it is the same here but the bank asked me (well a computer I guess) just before the payment...they send me a sms and asked for confirmation...this way no problem of blocked card or reorder...very convenient!
