New to Hydro.. Need Help.

and well ive never done hydro or have used the cyco line so should be pretty interesting.
should i try to make a halo instead of those drippers that come with it or just stick with those drippers?
gona use a t5 8bulb to start and then gona switch to a 600w hps to finish
is tap water ok for this or should i get distilled? not sure if ill have the money for R.o

how should i set up my drip 100% on all the time? or what

ha well im gona run it on all the time but when it comes to recirulation like this how often do you flush.? switched it up a lil gona do dj short blueberry(orignal) with the 600w gona use mh for 2 weeks then switch it to the hps then flower gona use hydroton not sure when to flush looking the the feedin chart for cyco it doesnt help ha but idk ill figure it out before i start any imput would be awesome. on strain systm or whatever

I'm doing a recirculating top drip using coco and House and Garden nutes. I only run my watering 2 times a day for 1 hour at a time. I dont even use the drippers i took them off and just let the water/nutes pour out of my hoses.

ha yea i was just gona take the hose and make a circle around the base and poke holes in it to leak ive asked two growers i know that done top feed they both said i would be fune just leaving it on all day idk thought how you liking house and garden ? the nutes i really want to use in this system is SuperNatural

Check your ppm on your tap water. you might get lucky. 100 to 300 is ok. any higher and I would go with a r/o setup.

GET RO! Chlorine in the tap water is toxic for your girls.....some strains can take it and show no signs but why risk it. Dont you have spots in your area were you can get 5 gallons of RO for $1.25? The type of place were you bring your jug and fill it yourself? Usually once a plant gets a little bushy you can see what the chlorine does, you'll have alot more dead water leafs, your plant takes the chlorine and transports it to dump leafs.

fyi, if you just take your tap water and aerate for about 24 hours, the chlorine will evaporate. It may not get a 100% of it out, but it will get rid of most of it. i'm sure you can survive without ro if your ppms are under 300, just go really light on the nutes and oxygenate your water. and if u use supernatural nutes, you use such a small amounts, that its easy to use if your water is already at 300ppms.

hmm yea gonna put a air pump in the rez for sure not sure what size ill need its a 8.8gal rez with 1.75 gal buckets i think just gona get a cheap one like 142gph with a air stone . or should i get a bigger pump like 600gph cause its only a 9 dollar difference

but i will not use the TAP just did a check came out 500+ppm so fck that hahaha bad water.... for sure probly just gonna go to the little water places and refill up there cause Swim been doing it for awhile and works fine. tap is no go.

ALSO with this sorta system how do i do the feeding cycles, do i mix nutes in the water and use that for like 4 days then flush for like 3-4 days and then feed again??
and if i run pump 100% of time its NFT,Nutrient film technique or whatever right? i heard its harder to do nft so if i put the pump on a timer what do you guys suggest? my system is gonna be in a big room(gona convert it into two rooms flower and veg) its a 10x10x7 at the moment just white walls concrete floor just gonna get some clones(djshort Blueberry:Indica80%,Sativa20%) just gona try to veg with a 600w mh for like 2 weeks to get them used to the strenght of a 600w and then switch bulb and switch it to 12/12 and finish em thats my plan so far but ive yet to come up with a good schedule for feeding sorta scared cause on a time crunch so probly getting clones tomarrow or thursday

yea i want a ro but just make some more $ first

Exact same system I am running and I keep my drip on 24 hrs and I dont put the stakes down all the way but just put them close to the base of the plant cause i like to move around the pot occasionaly and one time i pulled up the stakes and a root came out with it so, didnt hurt the plant at all but scared me.

yea i was thinking about doin 24hrs but i was gonna change the hose with drips out and put in a new line from the hose(garden hose coming from pump) and put halos at each pot cause the lines that are on there now seem a lil tiny and i cant find peices that small ha

ha you inspired me though i was about to sell this system to someone and after i saw your thead i changed all my thinking

well havent kept up jumped into some aeroponics its gnarly and scary but ive got it down so far ill make a new thread as soon as i can
