New to growing with 600 watt air cooled

I am 4 weeks into flowering in a ebbflow hydrosystem in my 3.5ft x3.5ft grow tent in my closet. I had been using a 400 watt with an enclosed hood where the air was sucked out into the attic. It has a magnetic ballast. I just bought a 600 watt digital ballast with 600 watt bulbs and a really big air cooled hood with the hot air being sucked out too. What is the smallest height u would recommend me it being hung above my plants, so the get the most light without burning them. Thanks

If your hand can stand to be there your plant can as well at that age, my 1000w is less than 18 inches and I just have fan blowing
