I recently started curing my first harvest, I have a good amount of popcorn buds and trim (not fan leaves) that I want to make some concentrates with. I was looking at different icewater hash methods as they seem simple, but am curious about other methods.

What are you guys into making? Whats your best technique?

I prefer BHO or QWET. Suggest you first check out Rosin.

I read a little about rosin. Got the parchment paper and hair iron and read it was low grade hash i guess, so decided to try something else.

Ive done dabs never blown it though. Pretty easy after you get the items?

There is dry ice sift. You'll have to find some wood framing and screens from a silk screen store...printing. Im offering a suggestion out of experience with my pollen box. Small box but if you build yours right with two different sizes of mesh:one bigger on top and smaller on bottom you can make some pretty good melt.
The boxes might be easy but they say the hash making is tedious because you're after the THC
"heads" which will fall through mesh. the hash if you do it right will be called full melt, being that it almost melts like bho because the plant matter is nil if anything. The dry ice merely helps with weed brittleness but its only a tool so too much won't do you much good.
I'd chime in about mesh size but I have no idea how big that should be so do a little reading around about that, some guy in canada makes these really nicely too.

ICE/COLD water is the best and cleanest method of extraction. ..well the type of bags u buy play a huge factor. So don't cheap out!!!! Freeze ur shake or bud before you run it...this helps in the separation process...please do not use nasty chemicals when extracting...just gross! !!

BHO is so 1990....and gross...
Lol. My BHO test under 5 ppms of solvent. Nothing gross about it at all. If it is made properly.

I see a TON of gross oil coming from Cali, Washington, Arizona, Oregon and Colorado here in the Carolina's. Shit that snaps crackles n pops like a bowl of Rice Krispies, tastes like a stem would, is blacker than night, and is full of impurities.

So yes, if your smoking "street oil" then it is most likely pretty damn bad. Atleast that is the case here.

Ive read threads on bho and ice water hash. Im not doing bho tonight but i have a bunch of trim( threw fan leaves away.) I have it frozen in the freezer and want to use it tonight. I have a tool thats like a permanent coffee strainer, coffee filter, electric egg beaters ETC but no bubble bags.

What is your guys system to ice water hash

If it's a personal thing I'd pick up a set of dry sift screens from pocono if I were you.

If not go with bubble bags.

I love my water hash but damn there's always more money to be spent and tools to be bought for water hash. Ice, cookie sheets, drying racks, parchment, sieves, microplanes, vacs, fridges. I'm sure I'm missing something but the point is you can spend a lot of money to have all the tools to make the best hash but with a set of dry screens all you need is some dry ass herb and time.

Just my 2 cents.

Besides 99.9% dry sift is supposed to be the holy grail of extractions.

also ain't nothin low quality about rosin.

I love that slab of Rosin. Shit looks so tasty. Dry sift and then turn it to Rosin is what I'm seeing people do to get slabs of it like that

Making the hash is easy. Separating and drying it properly is the hard part. :)

Cheers bro it was made from water hash. :) Bodhi A35 x 88 g13/hp

I won't lie I'm on such a smalltime scale sometimes I really wish I had a set of screens. I almost feel like I would stop making water hash if I had screens.

and of course life always in the way of getting a set of screens shipped.
