Hello All,

I am new to this and its my first time using Aerogarden. I need some assistance please. So this is what I have done:

I have the aerogarden space saver and have three pods currently inserterd with the plastic cup cover on them. The rest of the wholes I just have the plast cup cover them. I had removed the current seeds just as the basil, etc out of the pods. I placed a weed seed into it. This is the third day and no progress at all. No seed sprouting at all. I also added one seed growing tablet. At the same time after doing some research I had 2 seeds in a cup with a napking which was damp. Those 2 seeds started to sprout. So I removed the current seed in the pod and replaced two of them with the two sprouting seeds. Is this the correct way to insert the sprouting seed into the pod? Please advise...thank you all.

that looks like it might support 1 plant. for that much you can get a used classic on ebay or craigslist and have room for 2 or 3 full size plants' roots. of course, this is totally IMO

you can get an aerogarden classic for under 100 dollars and you would be able to grow a few plants instead of just 1, and it would be cheaper.

I've no experience with the aerogarden, It seems like a novelty more than anything to me. I wish you the best of luck with the lil sprouts though. Once you get sick of growing 6 inch tall plants I'd go out on a limb and make a proper DWC or DWC/Aero hybrid, both of which could be done for way cheaper than the aerogarden and produce incredible results.
Great screen name by the way
Thank Yall VERY much

1. Yes I think I will modify the space saver in height, however how by how much. The length right now can go as high as 18 inches.
2. Northern lights
3. I placed a napkin on the bottom then placed a seed then a napkin on the top. I damped the it and it made it the seed sprout.

After the seed started to sprout I placed it in the pod of the aerogarden. Thanks for the response.

i can take the light off of my model when the plants get tall, you will need to go to a radio shack and buy a figure 8 adapter to power your light with, but you can take it off when your plant gets too tall, which it will b/c northern lights is a tall plant. you can top it as you go to keep it bushy.

northern lights is a tallllll plant for an AG. your going to need to buy that figure 8 cord from radio shack. also, your going to need better lights than just the OEM AG lights. im assuming your only growing one plant so buy 2-3 CFLS, daylight for growing, and softwhite for flowering, i would also consider buying UVA/UVB CFL lighting for flowering.

did u put the tail of the seed down or up in the AG?

What is a CFLS? Also the tail of the seed was down so I pulled it and faced it upwards. What that correct? Because I saw the tail on the bottom and the seed getting higher and higher.

Lots of ignorant assholes here bashing the AG and I see you've joined the group.

You did it backwards. The "tail" as you called it is the "tap root" and it goes down! Roots grow down....good luck with that!
