hey,

i just finished building this thing today.
all i need is the HPS light and im good to go!
im growing one plant but later will do 2 and i will scrog in it. i had some questions:

what HPS Wattage should i use? maybe 150W HPS?

also is the DWC bucket looking good? let me know if im missing anything.

ill be using the small net pots. it fits a rockwool cube perfectly. would it be safe just to add the rockwool cube and cover the top with the bottom of a cut styrofoam cup. or just leave it exposed?

let me know what you guys think and ill accept any suggestions. :weed:

ok man your set up is very short and using the 5 gal bucket toally kills what little space you have

you should use a wider and much sorter container for your plants

like this

sure its recomended to use a 5 gal bucket per plant but thats only if you are growing them big in a closet

the plant has so little room to grow it will never fill that bucket with roots anyway

i would use a bigger cabinet if possible. anyway good luck man

i have a problem now. i put a lil plant to test it out and the little sprinklers are getting clogged way to fast! in like 5hours its done.
it probably because im using powder nutes? im using supernatural powder nutes.

can someone please help me out on how to keep my sprinklers from clogging??

thanks.

Big p i made one like that on the pic above but the roots dried up. i had the water half an inch from the bottom of the net pot and it dries up.
also i replaced my sprinklers like 4 times. why does this keep happening. i would think the nutes dissolved after 24 hours already ><

like say you got your clones right and they are rooted in the net pot but the roots are not hanging down enough or maybe not even poked out the net pot yet,

if this is the case you must raise the water level to reach and like cover the net pots up to half way up the net pots

you can only lower the water level once the roots are submerged in the water, you can never lower the water below the reach of the roots

the air bubbles in the water will feed the roots oxygen so there is no worries about the plant suffocating even if you raise the water level up to the the net pot about 2" up the net pot

im guess your roots dried up cuz they were not touching the water right?

yea. what happened was that half of the root was submerged and the other half that was in the air dried up but not the one in the water.
check out the link for a pic: https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/286242-dwc-problem-roots-air-dried.html

so i have to keep the water level 1nch up the net pot always? or until lots of roots build up then its ok for the roots to hang in the air or it should never be in the air always in the water?

well like once you have a nice beard on them like a nice root beard if you will like this:

then you can lower the water level below the net pot without worry of anything drying

I would say you should always keep the majority of the roots about 90% in the water

you only had one baby root when you put yours in and thats why it dried up you wanna make sure you have a nice beard not just 1 hair before you lower the water. it doesnt have to be as long as the pic above but it should be a beard with many roots not just 1 or two

i think what happened was they little root could not suck up enough water and all the roots that were concealed in your net pot dried out cuz all your clay balls were not soaking and nice and wet
