New Setup DIY Under Current DWC

So I was orginally going to run 4 DWC buckets but recently changed my mind because of temp issues where it'll be easier for me to cool 1 connected system rather than 4 seperate buckets. I've been putting this together all morning pvc into the uniseals holy shit what a pain in the ass had to use some P-Jelly to slip them in and still hard but all is well now so I decided to take a quick break and post some pics on the forums. Once the system is completely put together I'll pull prices on everything so readers can get an idea on how much this will cost if you decided to diy your own instead of paying 500 - 700 on an system manufactured! Thanks for checking in more to come!

1 10ft 1/4 PVC $4.00
4 1 1/4 elbows $2.00
1 1/4 Slip PVC Tee $2.00
PVC Cemet $3.00
13 1 1/4 Uniseals $40.00
550gph inline water pump $35.00
18W Commerical Air Pump $36.00
4 5gal black buckets $5.00 Each
4 6inch net pot lids $2.00 Each
18gal Tote had one laying around
25ft black airline $3.00
4 4inch round air stones $8.00 Each
1ft of 1inch tubing (for inline Pump) $1.00
1ft of 3/4 tubing (for outake from pump) $1.00
3/4 Barbed Tee (Waterfall effect in res) $2.00
1 1/4 PVC barbed reducer to 1inc $1.00

Total $190 add maybe 30 or 40 bucks for cutting tools etc if u dont have any.

P.S Ill be running this setup under a 6 HydroFarm Raptor Reflector just picked up for $160!! with a 600W Lumatek E Ballast and Lumatek HPS Bulb $223. This is actually only going to be my third grow alot of reading/research and help from RIU members thanks guys!

Is the petroleum jelly shot for you and your boyfriend later? Not sure... I would space the buckets out further.. but that is me.

How are you going to plumb the pump? Is it going to sit in the control tote or outside?

I'm not sure if the P-jelly is harmful to plants or not but I would make sure to clean up any excess.

Ahh you have only 4x4.. well kind of over kill for plant size you can obtain in there then. It looks good though as far as implementation of it.

Yea I only used a small amount then wiped any excess off. For the plumbing to the pump what I did is fed the 1 1/4 PVC into the tote about a inch in then connected a reducer with an 1inch barbed connector which will then go to an 1inch tube into the barbed connector on the pump's inline. For the outake what I'm doing is having 3/4 tubing into a barbed tee so there is a small waterfall effect in the res I'll post some pics of it completed

So the pump will sit inside the control tote then? That will work but having the pump in the tote is gonna heat your solution up. I would keep the pump outside the tote.

4 Clones & clone setup, I've had some serious heat issues all worked out now with using the cooler and frozen water bottles. Ill be using these clones in the UCDWC once my current grow is harvested. Had some brown slime but thanks to Heisenberg & hellraizer30 problem is fixed!
