Why? Doesn't UV produce more females? And these are 2700 k bulbs, and if I add anougher I'll need alot more ventilation (it's allready 85f) isn't 600 watts enough?

Those bulbs look kinda small to be 300 watts a peice. You sure that is the actual wattage and not the equivalent wattage? But if thats the actual wattage then it should be enough.

Equivilent wattage, but that's genraly what everyone talks about!
Geoduck, I'm on my phone so I'll look at your pix later, but Ive seem better results with 18/6 than 24/0; it's probibly heat stress rather than size; the 18:6 should fix that, also more circulation (added bonus more females are produced at lower tempratures (60f idealy) but will grow fastest at about 75

Nice set up dude. Mine seem small for 2 weeks what do you think. I started them on July 13th from seed (24 hr), and they seemed stressed by August 1st. I transplanted them yesterday, and started them on an 18:6 schedule, and they seemed happier at first light this morning. What do you think? Are they too small a lost cause perhaps?

Equivilent wattage means shit dog! lol, it's completely and 100% worthless when growing! lol, you ARE NOT giving the plants 600w. It's the ACTUAL wattage that you need to pay attention to! In my sig there's a link that says "High wattage CFL's VS Low wattage CFL's" there's a tone of great CFL info in there! And also you should check out some of the stickys! For real!

Here's a couple links:
https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/83128-lumens-lux-adding-all-up.html (MOST important link IMHO)
https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/723-things-know-about-lighting.html
https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/41024-cfl-proximity-foliage.html

If you have a CFL that says '400w equivilent' it is more than likely around 105 ACTUAL watts (give or take). Which is just good enough for 1 plant. Get the equivilent thinking out of your head. It's the ACTUAL watts you need to pay attention to!.. 100 ACTUAL watts of CFL's per plant or per sq foot of growing area.

The 2700k are just fine. That's what you want to use for flower. They can also be used to veg, but the growth is better under 6500k for veg. Don't flower under straight 6500k! lol.
And no, that's an old wives tale that the more UV light you have the more females come from the seeds. lol, funny tho!

dont shoot your self in the foot here. nobody cares what the incandecent equivalent is. when i say i have 368 watts that is actual i dont have 1300 watts. i would definatley add some mylar too everything thats not white or add more lights/ventilation. i would suggest doing a mix of 6500k and 2700k bulbs if you are going 12/12 from seed. just my opinion tho. good luck homie

I think I've got something like 68 actualy watts per light, I'll hook up anougher soon; but it's be a pain to now since I just fixed it up, but I'm guessing I only have 1.5 some sq feet of growing area, I can slim that down to 1 probibly withoutmuch effort. When my lights go on I'll look at the actual stats of my light
