New Research Shows Flushing may not be needed (unflushed may even be better)

I started out growing veggies before weed which helped significantly. Now outdoor veggie growing is definitely a bit different from indoor growing but at least you learn the basics like nute strength, over/under watering etc. A lot of newbies getting into growing weed haven't grown anything in their life so it's all brand new to them which makes them susceptible to marketing gimmicks and other BS.
Once u can grow good tomatoes cucumbers and peppers and I had a pretty nice year with pumpkins made some nice pumpkin pie that was good Once u can grow these good then u got a nice handle

I don't have enough space for pumpkins but I grew some killer brandwines and cucumbers this year. Brewing up some beer soon wth homegrown hops as well. No flushing needed lol well maybe after I have few cold ones

That quote was not from a scientist it was from Danny Danko. While he might be a “famous” grower that does not mean he actually knows everything.

The scientist proved that there was no difference in mineral content in the plants. Which directly contradicts mr. danko and demonstrates that the flushing did nothing to remove minerals from the plants.
I agree I cant remember the pod cast I was listening to from kis organics but the lady that was being interviewed explained it as the plants have already absorbed the nutrients you simply cant wash them out

Dr Allison justice pc#43

Great episode. Listened couple times.

Although she only briefly goes into what was found in tissue tests by a Canadian University.

The curing was interesting. Found nothing but moisture redistribution after the burp. Co2 levels only increased with the presence of employees.

interesting. So my runoff tray is probably due for a cleaning? my roots sit in the runoff for a bit before it dries/gets absorbed, its probably recirculating the salts
yeah, it would be a good idea to get them up out of it, a layer of gravel will work, as long as it's deeper than the run off water, or a brick under the pot, anything that won't rot and is easily cleaned, because it will grow algae eventually.

Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc sell garden stepping stones that work perfectly and are the perfect height for that

this for sure, I've always had fun growing stuff in the backyard. Pumpkins/squash always give me issues with the damn SVB maybe I'll try again this year with some resistant varieties.

I ease off the nutrients at the end to save a little bit of $ and I enjoy seeing that autumn color effect
It's pretty interesting the ACE idea.. I don't think it makes buds any better but they are visually appealing with the nice color to them and I save a little cash on nutrient. This grow I think I'm gonna feed all the way through though.

That’s not what the quote you shared said though or what your previous posts said, so please don’t back pedal now :).

Removing minerals from the medium makes no difference either, it doesn’t remove anything from the plant.........
But it does prevent plant from absorbing further nutrients...which is why many flush products use chelators.

So then the plant starts cannabilizing it’s leaves and moves the stores of nutrition from the leaves to the buds to finish growing.

FYI i have nothing against tapering nutes down or even watering normally with plain water the last week if you wanna save a dollar worth of nutrients. It really should be the last week of the plants life though, which is a major problem new growers have since they don’t understand how these plant mature.

Personally I don’t really care what people do or try in their own gardens. I usually encourage people to do actual side by sides over several grows and tryout the different results. It’s important to make sure a grower knows how to effectively grow and dry before trying it though or the results are useless.

I don’t like how much broscience gets passed around the cannabis community. Especially new growers don’t often read beyond high times or cannabis specific grow books and sites.

I don't need an article from High Times to tell me that. In fact I don't even read High Times. It's nothing but advertisements. Even the articles are advertisements.

The fact that their senior cultivation editor makes ridiculous statements proves High Times is a terrible place to get information regarding the cultivation of cannabis.

"senior cultivation editor Danny Danko. “So it helps with the burnability of the flower by leeching out excess salts and nutrients.”

That pretty much sums up High Times. Advertisements or bad information from those that don't know what they're talking about.
I met and smoked with danny at my old bosses store he litarly said he didnt know much about growing or nutes to us while launching his line everything he publishes is second hand knowledge. Also the people that launched his line did my friend dirty not a big fan.
