Im no expert, but from my grow I've learned to watch for the little bugs that eat plants, make sure you plant it in a place that gets good sunlight throughout the day, and dont let it be visible by anyone you dont want to see it. May seem obvious but something you definitely cant forget.

yea i'm with you, a cityboy. i do know that neem oil does wonders to keep the bugs off but i bet that would be tiresome with 12ft monsters haha or however big they get out there.

i've been told you could buy a.... shit forget what kind of tree. but one that bugs LOVE and plant it close by your outdoor crop. instead of destroying your mary jane the tree will be devoured. now if only i could remember what kind of tree that was...

True True, but not in this case. I have nothing to worry about when it comes to people seeing. I could be out all day dancing in them and nobody will see. I am planning on having like... A fuckin lot of plants. I am not sure caring for every plant is going to be easy. I was thinking on putting them in rows and making a sprinkler system out of some plastic piping.
And that tree idea is awesome. IDK what it is either. Never heard of anything like that. That is like... not wanting your neighbor's dog killing your cat so you buy a rabbit... Ha!
But i have no idea about the bugs. How bad are they on a scale of 1-10?

I'm not too sure putting them in rows is such a good idea. That does not look to natural when a helicopter files over it. It makes it easier to spot from above. Make it look natural. Don't ever think a helicopter won't file over. They do alot where I am at looking for dope. I am sure it happens all over. Maybe not as much, but you should plan on it happening. Also hide you pipping. That also makes it easier to spot from the air when you see something that shouldn't be there. Just burier it or camo it somehow.

good advice... Helicopters... I don't ever see helicopters where i am growing. How should i hide them? I think they are going to be in an open field... what should i do? and to make things worse... i am not sure i can even so a watering system out there. This is going to be so hard. Growing outside is a waste of time. Does anyone who grows outside have any ideas? I am thinking that i should just put some money into this and build a warehouse... Hahaha..

build your own greenhouse! i mean you don't really need irrigation as long as you can stretch a hose that far out there and be around to water every few days...

i think the tree might have been a juniper? but i'm not sure

what should i be concerned with?
The biggest thing one should be concerned with is getting caught and getting arrested. That is numero uno on the priority list. Everything else is second fiddle.

I see you are from Missouri.

First off, let me tell you that Missouri has some hard core aerial eradication that goes on. Not only local units but the Highway patrol has 2 helicopters and several airplanes they use. The National Guard also goes out looking as well. They set up remote cameras in MO and during this past summer the Highway Patrol caught someone using a live turtle cam.

I wouldn't grow very many. I wouldn't put them packed in close together. I wouldn't do alot. Don't put them in a pattern. Don't use irrigation equipment such as sprinklers and hoses. Don't even leave a bucket. This stuff is what will make it easy to spot you from the sky.

If you only have 3 acres and there are other people's properties bordering that 3 acres than you may want to consider unless you have heavy hard core brush to hide them in. 3 acres isn't very much land at all.

If you are a complete novice then no answers to this thread's questions will be enough. You need to research what you have to do to be successful and plan every major step out ahead of time so you are ready. There is a ton of information available on this site as well as many others for you to know what to expect and what needs to be done start to finish.

If you are going to do it in a place like MO and its illegal then you want to be as prepared as possible to at least give yourself a chance to make the risk worthwhile. I would start off pretty darn small for your first time and at least learn what you are doing and get it down pat before you up the ante and try to grow any large amounts.

first things first no rows! just because you don't see any copters don't mean they don't fly over when you aren't around...outdoor watering systems are difficult to properly maintain and/or setup so for your first outdoor grow i wouldn't suggest it. bugs outdoors pose a big problem n should be dealt with according to where you are. im in fl and use mothballs scattered about 5-10 feet from the plants (not to close because you don't want them to be obsorbed into the roots its poisonous) in combination with schultz organic fungicide 3 (fungicide, miticide, insecticide) and it seems to work pretty well. but the biggest single thing you can do to help your grow is educate yourself! read as many things about growing as you can whether it be rollitup, books, etc. hope it goes well keep us posted
