New home defense hallowpoint

The G2R website claims the R.I.P acts as a full metal jacket manufactured with trocar angles, which means that the each of the eight shards has three angles which taper to a point - to 'penetrate the dermis layer more efficiently.'

'It is capable of going through barriers such as sheet rock, plywood, sheet metal or glass and still performs its original intent. The bullet shreds through solid objects and only then, expands its energy,' claims the G2R website.

The company's president, Cliff Brown explained to the Blaze that a scared and lonely housewife worried about protecting her home is one of the target customer bases for the terrifying new ammunition.

'I wanted to create a round that would work well against a home intruder,' said company president Cliff Brown told the Blaze.

Flechette bullets operate in a different manner - they have tiny shards which act as spikes that penetrate the target and pass through the other side.

Rowe criticizes the R.I.P round because he says that because the shards of this bullet are copper, they won't pass through the victim.

He claims that they will more than likely come to rest inside the target - as witnessed in some of their promotional videos.

And furthermore, becasue the round is designed for 9mm handguns wielded by women, the R.I.P is a cruel home defense weapon because it will only cause maximum pain and suffering.

For all the sadists out there, but if you can't use them on cops what's the point?

Anyone remember buying as many Black Talon rounds as you could before they were outlawed?

From Wiki~~~> In 1993 Winchester removed the ammunition from public sale,[SUP][12][/SUP] but at no time was Black Talon ammunition uniformly prohibited by law.

They were vest piercing and leo's did not like that at all. Pressure was applied to have Winchester remove them from public consumption. I remember riding around with my dad one saturday to all the different gun and ammo shops. I'm pretty sure he still has some. We used to use bowling ball pins for targets after we shot down the maple tree!

I think my old man my have a few hidden away yet. They were crazy when they came out, I remember all the bad press they got.

My go to home defense is a pistol grip 12gauge, if cocking it don't scare them out the buckshot will.

this would be a terrible home defense round. You DONT want rounds going through anything and killing the neighbor or your kids in the next room.

My personal choice is a pistol with snakeshot. Its like a shotgun for your pistol. one in the tube and the top round in the clip. Everything after that is hollow point in case the snake shot double tap doesnt get their attention.
I also like rocksalt in a shotgun. again first 2 rocksalt and then birdshot and then some 00. problem is my bernelli wont cycle the rocksalt shells so it only works in my pump shotgun.

anybody seen dragon fire shells? We got a bunch of stuff from blammo ammo back in the day. dont know if they are still around. One really cool one was a slug that was 2 balls with a 6 inch wire between them. I think they called it the bollo. Nasty shit.

Yeah a lot of home invasions where I live. My neighbors on both sides have been robbed more than once. I got the knock the other day. I just racked the 12 ga and took a seat on the landing to wait and see if they wanted to come visit me.

As usual, they left, something about the sound of racking a round, methinks. I use deer slugs but I do have buckshot. It just seems so unsporting to me. I remember picking out buckshot for hours on the back side of the clock. So I'm trying to be kind to the trauma teams.

What isnterests me is that the gun press is expressing doubts about the reality of the product and the veracity of its hucksters.

Look at the gel pic. That ain't proper ballistic gelatin. I'll stick with solutions known good.
And I must chuckle and tip my hat about the observation about trauma teams and "the buckshot stops here". Rarely do we think about the broom squad behind the parade elephants!
