New headstart plan...will it work?

I'm new to the whole growing thing but a friend and I have been planning to grow in the year of 2011 after he had a couple successful plants in his backyard last year. Our plan is to start sooner than later vegging in a grow box made out of an old speaker box with florescent CFLs. We then plan to move the plants outside into a secluded area nearby when spring comes around. Is this kind of "headstart" plan recommended or should we go about it a different way? My friend knows a lot about this stuff but i need to hear some of it for myself and make sure i have the right idea about what is going on here. Thanks! :leaf:

That is how you land two harvests in one year, plus, cops mostly look for fields in Sept and Oct. If you start inside and get out soon enough, you can get your plants flowering for a late spring harvest. The timing has to be right, watch the number of hours of light in your area and hope that the last frost is gone when you plant.

Your friend is right on. Hit the spring running and your plants will be much larger when you harvest them.

Hey it's me. Got a new account. Thanks for confirming that this will work. I'm getting excited in the anticipation for this season. Sounds like we've got a plan!
