New grower with heat issues!

Here's what I got.. The box is about 2.5' wide, 3' tall and a foot and a half deep or so. I am going for as stealthy as possible but it's much harder than anticipated. I have lightproofed and Mylar covered the entire inside, I'm using 6 100watt cfl bulbs as of now. I have 2 small USB fans for intake with light traps on them and a 4" duct booster fan for exhaust with a DIY carbons filter on the outside.

This cab is working out perfectly and my 8 hopeful girls are looking nice if I'd say so. The only problem is that my box gets up to anywhere from 87-90 degrees. It's in the basement so the air outside of it is very cool. I am trying to get some insight on whether the light traps or carbon filter may be dragging the fans down to not let them work as hard. Now the main question is if I were to absolutely NEED to put another fan in here would it be best to upgrade the duct fan to possibly a 6" or add another exhaust or intake or what? Please help! :lol:image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

More intake and more exhaust...
Plants will die, but first roots will not grow....
You must get a high RPM/CFM fan to get the hot air out, the existing exhaust, is it at the top of your grow box?
Another high CFM fan...Also bring more basement air from the bottom of basement, and into the bottom of grow box...
That 6" is a piece of crap, may as well just have a 6" hole in grow box.... I have same fan...
Good Luck, lower temps soon... tic tock... plants want it cooler

I have the one 4" booster fan in the top left side and the 2 4" USB fans on the bottom right. So should I get a bigger exhaust first or add another intake. I want to take this one step at a time so I don't go overboard.

What are the fans cfm rating?
I honestly have no idea. I just know the one is a 4" duct booster fan and the intakes are two 4" USB fans. Do you think my light traps or the CF may be just not allowing enough air to be pulled out/in?

Could be... Really don't know w/o the cfm. Where did u get the fans from? Brand? Everything is on the Internet

Okay the duct fan says 80 max boosted airflow cfm and 65 free air cfm.. The USB fans are still a mystery. I'm doing some research now and coming up empty. They are "room essentials" 4" USB fans.

I've had to take safety precautions and remove two of the lights until I find out my problem. It's comfortably sitting at 82 right now.

This is probably the best looking one! Today will be about 2 weeks from germ.going to transplant this one and 2 others that are about the same size tomorrow.

Sorry it's been a while I've just been really busy but I have great news!! I put a new fan in the box and its now hovering around 78-82 degrees  i have switched them over to 12-12 and changed 4 of the 6 bulbs to 2700k. Two of the smaller ones are going to get moved outside but my best four have been moved into bigger pots. Thinking I should get shorter pots to help save me some head room??

Make sure the exhaust is at the top since heat rises and have a small fan like a personal fan from walmart their small and produce decent air flow. Im using 2 for circulation and 1 for exhaust. I havent started yet but thought I would share. the fans are like $6-$8 at walmart. Check my journal and you can see what they look like. Just put another fan blowing past the lights and toward the exhaust fan which you should add to the top.

*didnt realize you posted that you fixed your problem lol bongsmilie
