New grower, new grow! Help and advice welcomed!

Hello once again RIU community, so I've just recently gotten back from overseas and it's time to give growing another shot . My previous grow , which was my first went 'Okay' I only got about half ounce of decent bud to smoke from my royal queen Auto.. I also had a male (Bomb THC Auto) and my friend had a (Purple Haze) female that he didn't really want so we successfully pollinated the Purple haze female and harvested a good amount of seeds . Here are a couple photos of them and the seeds that were harvested.

Okay now abit about my current grow. This time I'm growing or trying to grow:
1x Biodiesel Mass Auto Fem
1x Kera Critical Auto Fem
5x Seeds I harvested, or I should say seedlings that I saved that were growing around the pollinated Purple Haze.


I'm currently using Osmocote premium potting mix. I know this is not the best soil to use but I find it hard here in Australia to find anything really decent.


I started my seedlings in these little tomato kits. I find these help give the seedlings a good start with their root system.

I'm currently growing in a 1.2x1.2x2.0m grow tent.


Lights only turned off for photos. Lights I'm using at the moment.


I'm also waiting on one 6400k 150w cool white CFL which should be here in the next day or so.

Some of these plants I'll most likely move from inside the tent to outdoors. My Autos are about two weeks old from seeds. The rest of the seedlings which are from the Purple Haze are all different and not sure how old they are but yeah here are some photos of them.

Little UPDATE:
Hi guys just thought I'd let you know my new light has arrived and I now have it in my grow tent. 6500k 150w cool blue CFL.(Grow room is not yet complete I still need to purchase a couple more things.)
Middle light is the new one.



One of my plants is starting to show white pistils, i feel it's to early. Even though I don't know exactly how old this one is... It's only small and at the most 4 weeks old even though I'm thinking it's about 3 weeks old. What I'm mainly wondering is this a bad thing or does it mean anything?

i use normal premium potting mix u brought the shit with slow release nuts

I live in australia and u can buy exact same shit as the USA goto any hydro store

Sounds like you are growing a AUTO strains , if you are the nute schedule us much different than regular photo strains. Use good potting soil like FFOF fox farm ocean forest or Promix. Miracle Grow is a little too hot to use but will grow plants.

This a very basic and productive feed schedule for any AUTO STRAIN :

Week 1 : PH water only
Week 2 : PH water only
Week 3 : PH water only
( preflower will form but stick to veg nute )
Week 4 : 1/2 veg nutes
Week 5 : 1/4 bloom nutes
Week 6 : 1/2 bloom nutes
Week 7 : 1/2 bloom nutes
Week 8 : PH water only
Week 9 : ( final week before harvest ) PH water only til harvest

This a flush or no flush schedule to fit all growers of AUTOS. you believe the bullshit bickering over flushing plants. If want to flush , do it between week 4 - 5.

So guys I need to ask a couple questions that I'm stuck on. Firstly I have been doing a fair bit of reading on 'Topping' and 'FIMing' a plant, being my second grow i want to give it a shot as I see it's the way to go. I have 3 plants out of my 7 I would like to top. Here's a couple things which is holding me back and a couple questions I'd love you guys to answer for me.
-Do they look old enough to TOP or FIM?
-Should I TOP them or FIM them, what would you do?
-Plant 3 the plant looks like it's already flowering. Should I keep this plant even though it's small and flowering?
-I know not to TOP or FIM in flowering but would it be to late for plant 3?

Couple things i noticed right off the rip by just glancing at the pictures.

1. Never put more then one plant in the same pot, looks like u have 5 in 1 in one of those pics
2. Some of the plants look pretty stretchy

Is this an outdoor grow only?

Sorry maybe I should of made things a little clearer. I would never put more than one plant in the same pot, the photo you see with several seedlings in the same pot had a pollinated female in there and they were just seeds I didn't collect or didn't see. I'm not growing them or looking after them ones.
The stretch was caused from my lights being to far away from the seedlings but I beleive I have now fixed that. I'm currently growing in a 1.2x1.2x2.0m grow tent with CFLs indoors.

Ok cool, how many CFLs u running, whats the total wattage? do you take them outdoors part of the day or strictly indoors?

I'm still working on my lighting as I think I need more. I currently have:
1x 130w 2700k
1x 55w 3000k + 6400k grow light panel
1x 130w 6400k

This grow I won't be taking them outside as our winter is here in Australia.

Oh yeah, for sure you need more lights for that many plants.

Yeah first grow I only had 2 plants, but yeah working on better lighting. Will hopefully have grow tent finished soon.

UPDATE:
So I pulled a plant today as I found it was male and transplanted my last small plant that was started in the tomato kit.

Ok so this plant was root bound i actually was just about to pull it until I found the male, so I replaced the male with this one. As you can probably see this one looks a little stressed now but I'm hoping its standing up again in the morning.

UPDATE:
So I finally Topped one of my plants today, this is the first time Topping so I'm quite excited to see how she turns out. !! I Topped at 4 nodes.

UPDATE:
Okay so I've finally upgraded my lighting system to a 600w HPS and MH, I'm currently using the HPS because I think the MH might be a bit to hot atm because I still am yet to buy an exhaust fan. I will purchase one over the next couple days.


I also topped another plant on Friday and here she is. (Photo taken Friday 1st may, plant 3.)




Today I watered my plants with GOGO juice it's a mix with beneficial bacterias, I have never used this but because I'm a new grower I'm happy to experiment to learn.
