New Grower need advice for CFL lamps

Hi there,

I did Upgrades to my grow room to have a perpetual harvest, My question is:

What type of CFL lamp Do i need to Keep 10 Planta For Veg Only??

i Was Thinking T5 x(4) 24w Bulbs, But not sure if its going to be enough for all 10 planta.

Allso have the T5 x(4) 54w Bulbs , Not sure if thats to much.

The Veg room is 7 x 7 x 9.5 FT.

Can't ever really have too much light man.
you may have to battle heat, but they will be happy, especially if you have 10 plants kept in veg.

I would say, use it all, just make sure it's even light.

I've always heard you want 100W per plant.

That's optimal or 5000Lumen/ Sqft is min for medium yield.

The Bubls are T5 - 54/W 6500 K - 5000 Lumen , I think it will be enough since only need to keep 3 Motherplants, the rest will Be Clones and veg for 2-3 Wk then moved to 12/12.

My personal opinion would be to throw a 10,000k in there with the veg lights. maybe 1 10,000k t5 or 2 of em. My 10k made a huge difference in foliage growth. Whcih I assume would be what you would want with mothers?

Pretty sure the best of the best for vegging is Metal halide, which is 10,000 - 14,000k. So keep that in mind.

The 10,000k also put off a crapload of lumens too.

Also, T5's aren't CFL's, just so you know moving forward, CFL's are self ballasted. T5's are full on floro's that require a ballasted fixture.

For perpetual veg growth I recommend [h=1]GE Energy Smart CFL Soft White Light Bulb: 42 Watt (150W Equiv) At Walmart 8 bucks. Soft white is the best for vegative, and daylight bulbs for flowering I personally mix the two and have had awesome results. Good luck![/h]

Ok Got it thanks, I know MH is better for Veg, But want to keep the Power Bill low at least until first harvest, also Ty for Pointing the difrence of T5 Vs CFL , Man cant Wait for my seeds to arrive... xD
