Greetings from Northern Virginia! Stumbled upon this site last night and it looks amazing. I am a total newbie to the cannabis game.
Got a medicinal certificate in August and have been vaping ever since. It’s the Only thing that helps with my chronic migraines.

Thought it would be fun to attempt to grow my own plants. After finally buying seeds, I’m ready to start. I started the germination process a couple days ago.
VA allows growing up to 4 plants / household. I’ve started with 3 seeds to see how it goes.

I’ll start up a grow journal and apologize in advance for asking lots of questions.

Thanks for the welcome. I plan on growing outdoors in soil for this first attempt. Want to make sure I enjoy growing as much as I think I will before pouring lots of money into all the needed supplies for an indoor set up.

I bought 5 Granddaddy Purple feminized seeds and they added on 5 more GDP seeds and 2 THC Bomb feminized seeds for free.

I’ll start with 3 three gallon fabric pots.
Two for the THC Bomb seeds and one for the Granddaddy Purple.

I’m not an outdoor soil guy for weed, but IMO you might want to rethink the three gallon pots. I wouldn’t grow tomatoes or peppers in three gallon pots myself. If your outdoors and in soil, I would go huge pots or in the ground, unless you’re growing autos. Others will chime in as well I’m sure. Anyhow, good luck, happy growing, and keep us posted.

My spring crops are in 7 gal pots and my summers will be in 15. I'm keeping the pots small so my plants don't out grow my hot box about 7 foot

Welcome to RIU. As mentioned above you might want to rethink the 3 gallon fabric pots for outdoors. You'll be watering twice a day in the summer heat. Plastic pots hold water better and are better for most climates outdoors. If they're photoperiod seeds your going to want at least 10 gallon pots if not bigger. You need to have a plan for dealing with insects and things like powdery mildew and molds. Do some searching for IPM plans which will give you some ideas. Hope you have a blast and get some good buds.
